Update on the Des Moines pool scene

FWIW They didn't close hardly at all on either Saturday or Sunday night. I know I was in my game until 8 AM before I finally pulled up. Let's just say getting hustled by a 17 year old is an interesting experience. I hope in ten years he wins a major tourney so I can say I paid for that kid's marijuana for the weekend.

As for the action, yes there was a lot of it and yes they were big sets. The derby is a once a year thing. Thousand dollar sets that pop off randomly is good action.

All I really want to know is how much did Whitey lose playing $20 one hole... Yes Bruce I forgot about that $25 but now that you reminded me again I will take payment when I see you.

Yes on Sunday I was a hot mess. I actually tried to leave two different times but figured it was better to puke in the bathroom than on myself while driving...which eventually happened anyway. Shout out to whoever kept cleaning the bathroom up behind me, I never did make it to the toilet before the first bits came out.

There were at least 8 matches I can think of all the top of my head which makes it too much for me to attempt to type. If someone else decides to give it a go I'll summarize the rest but I just cant bring myself to type all that up.

Had a great time last weekend and got to meet a lot you guys there locally. There are definitely some things that can be improved on but props to Randy for holding the event. You guys have a strong local following with a lot of good players. Maybe I'll road trip it up there soon to stir up a little action as everyone seemed to be a gentleman to play with.

And do i really play that slow to get the clock called on me? Maybe the 15 beers slow my processor down, i don't know. Lol

Thanks Randy

Million dollar question....How did Randy Hansen feel the weekend went and will he be interested in doing something again anytime soon or will he not be interested for 6-12 months...?

Thanks to Randy for putting on the tournament and staying open all night even though everyone was on the all day rate. He basically stayed up all night for nothing and I don't think I paid for my coffee! Next time we'll start the one pocket at 11 am on Friday and play all day and get it down to 3 or 4 players left. Then run the 9 ball uninterrupted until we have an opportunity to finish the one pocket. The room, equipment and atmosphere was excellent. Hope we do it again soon.

:)

So I'm guessing you would like to play some more at that game huh? Let me know when and I'll play you 6 ahead for $1000. And of course you're always welcome to come to Burlington

I like my home tables. I would play you some at the Derby if you are going though. If you are wanting to bet higher, I'll try some at that other game you offered, where you line up 3 balls on the spot and I need one to your three.

Or we could just play even and i'll bet $100 to your $500 a game. I promise I won't quit until you get me at least 15 games down.

Thanks for the games last weekend though. I like the way you play. Your banks were just letting you down a little that last night.

I don't mind playing you on your home tables. They play great, I've just got to learn to bank on em. I'm sure someone over there will bet on you to make it worth my while to come over and take a shot at you again. I'd like to play you one night and Chance the next day or vice versa. I did notice your game got a lot tighter when the bet got higher even though your bet stayed the same. I hope they threw you a biscuit! Yeah, you would think I'd be able to make a couple banks in an 10 hour one pocket session Let me know email me: whiterat1@msn.com

I thought about this the next day. Everyone appreciated Randy staying open, i hope he knows :)

Action like that isn't an everyday thing around here, it was very fun to be a part of and watch ! ! !

Yes, thank you Randy for a fun long weekend of pool.

I wish they had kept the recording going on that doubles one pocket match. I had my hands full on the next table and didn't get to really watch much of it.

I did record a lot of it on my computer, but the software glitched and I got squadoosh.

ps. We would always jelly the room owner and/or staff if they stayed open. Especially if we won.

Is this date just a thought, or are the wheels in motion?

What he said!!! Unusual that Big Dogs schedules something more than 2 weeks out! I can plan our poker tourny AROUND this!

When is the Minnesota tourney? Atlantic? Midwest? I know all those tourneys are 'around' that date...

That is a firm date...remember jack and jill tourney on new years day as well and a blind draw doubles tourney later in january
