DCC : Jan 25th, 2010 : Tim Heath vs. Jimmy Mataya : "One-Handed Games" : First Game

I know many of you can't wait till DCC! Here's something that some of you may remember from earlier this year.

Upstairs, around 3am, Jimmy was trying to get someone to bet him on a coin toss; I think it was for $500. Tim took the bet and lost. This lead to a series of $500 a game of "One-Handed Games". I've posted the first three games and have more recorded. I will post them as I have time.

Please check out:

Select Videos from the top menu. A pop-up video player will appear. The menu is set to the Derby City Classic 2010. Enjoy!!!

Cheers, Mark

It's good to see some folks enjoy the banter. That's one of the main reason's I'm going back to DCC next year. I will post another video tomorrow. Need to get some sleep. Regarding your question, I watched 5 or 6 games; Timmy was ahead. I then headed to the TAR room to watch another match, came back an hour later and saw that Timmy was giving Jimmy the 8. That was around 6am; I pretty sure he came out the winner, but I'm not 100% sure. My camera's batteries died after I taped a few games. Maybe someone knows the true outcome?
Cheers, Mark

"jacked up" would be without resting the cue on the rails -- they are definitely resting the cue on the rails. I sweated some of that too -- it was pretty funny stuff. I liked Timmy's banter, and Mataya's -- both real entertaining quick witted guys.

I was playing Artie upstairs and you could still hear them.

Lots of conversation from a couple of characters. One of the newer ones and one of the older ones.

hey, thanks for FINALLY posting this!:D I remember right after the Derby, you mentioned that you had these and I remember shooting you a post to say Sure, post them:D Appreciate it!

Nice shot on the 7 ball. he hit that better then a lot of people could with 2 hands.

I would very much enjoy the rest of them, if you could find the time to post them. Did you have your phone propped up against something? Really good video's, since their not moving all over the place.

Thanks again!

This project got put on back burner since I was on the road for business almost every week after DCC. I had to research what software to use and how I was going to host it on my website. The last couple months, I've been working virtually so decided to get these posted just before DCC. I was resting my CANON POWERSHOT SX10 IS on the metal railing or my knee to keep it steady. I'm going to format another game and post it within an hour or two.

BTW, to the others who posted the reference to "jack-up pool", it was Jimmy that was saying he would play "jack-up pool" for $500 a game. Hence, the reason I titled it this way. Its semantics that they used the rails after the game got started.

You are the best one handed player I've seen. What is the correct terminology? I will correct it based on your reply.

Thanks, Mark

It's a one-handed game. Jacked up means they play one handed, but can never use the rail to rest the cue on any shot - they would always be "jacked up". I was going to post this but just for accuracy, but I was late.

But thanks for the post, it was very enjoyable. I would like to see more, please.

Okay. Its been corrected to "One-Handed Games". I just looked at my media server and have maybe 6 or 7 games recorded. I'm going to host two more then head out for lunch.

I can't wait to see how the rest of the match went.

Watching Timmy is fun. He really knows how to put on a show. If you are playing him and he's acting like that...not so much fun.

Okay. I just posted the second and third game. Tonight or tomorrow I will post a couple more.

Thanks, Mark

Breaking the Sound Barrier

Jimmy Mataya was in a sound proof while Scott and Efren were playing on the TV table and he was still bleeding thru the booth.
