In my quest to create new and different ways for us all to enjoy pool as fans I came up with an idea. This is not a new idea really but I can't remember seeing it other than Mosconi cup. Please tell me if you think it would be popular as I am 50/50 on the idea and it has pros and cons.

I am thinking about doing a challenge match, a mixed scotch doubles challenge match or just a all male scotch doubles.

Example mixed scotch = Daz Appleton and Allison Fisher VERSUS Karen Corr or Kelly Fisher and Earl or Archer.

example all male = Archer and Appleton vs Earl and ????

Thinking 8-Ball, 9-Ball and 10-Ball. Over 2 days

There would be a prize fund for the winner maybe 10k. What do you guys think? would it be a hit on the internet?
 
I'm quite sure it would be popular on the internet. Depending on pricing, of course...

Sounds great to me. Looking forward to hearing more.

Who would be the pros and which cons would play?

I think it is an interesting concept, Like Vickery/Pickle vs Archer/Strickland.

They would, of course, need some weight as well as some new clothes...

Do something new, handcuff he partners together or tie of their legs to the other. That would be cool.
 
I would suggest if I may that you try this with Players that live close to each other one/two states away or same state maybe to keep travel cost to a minimum.

And what ever it makes in gate admissions, live streaming, DVD sales,T-Shirts.....etc... is what it makes and you and the players take what it makes it is what it is.

But generating what ever money you can is better than no money at all, so by keeping it close to the players that live within maybe a 100-200 miles of each other will keep cost to a minimum.

As something like this grows with popularity then take it where ever, as the interest gets bigger.

Something like what TAR started they took an ideal from nothing and made a product that is accepted and wanted to a certain audience. I'm sure it hasn't made any of the TAR guys rich but it has made money I'm sure.

It takes time to build anything, but once it's accepted by the majority who knows how big it can be. JMO

I see what you are saying. However I have to guarentee the pros something for winning. Its hard to tell them I don't know how much they are playing for ya know?

What then makethe loserof each rack do a shot each then race to the street lamp and back before the shot clock runs out. Stupid but it would probably do well on tv by looking at what gets on tv these days lol

Already been done.

There was that match Breedlove was in and Baretta was on the other team.
