I've had a Sharp HD TV hooked up to my computer for a couple of years to watch games on the internet.
Colours are washed out.

Wandering though the manual, I found a section on AV Mode.
The button for this is hidden under a flip cover on my remote.
It offers a variety of settings for each input source.

And it provides a huge improvement :D

Always good to learn something new.

I've posted about hooking up to a computer before, and mentioned the blah colours, but nobody suggested a method of improvement.
Maybe the fix was too obvious to anyone but a techno-idiot like me.
 
Those manuals are full of useful stuff like that. Enjoy the HD and merry christmas.

I'm sure I have some features on my system that i'm over looking too. If all else fails "Read the Manual"!

Its only in Spanish, French, Finnish, Italian and German. There is not an English edition.
 
If you have one of the newer laptops with an Intel i4 or better chip in it and the Intel wireless display you can buy a Push2TV receiver and stream it to you tv in 720p.

It does a great job streaming and the picture looks better on my tv than my laptop
