Attaching Cue Case to Motorcycle

After not riding for 10+ years, I am taking delivery of a new bike tomorrow, and I started wondering about the best way to attach my cue case if I ride to a tournament or something. The bike (F800GS) will have a Zega pannier system on it, but no top rack. Would just like to hear any solutions or advice you have to offer.

Thanks,
Aaron

Depends on the cue and case, but my friend just strapped his to the top/front of the handlebar.... I used the strap like a sling over my shoulder.

Interesting. My only thought so far was that a position that provided the lowest probability of getting skewered by the cue in a minor accident would be most desirable. Not sure if I want the cue in front of me...

Just use a case with a shoulder strap and put it on across the back (over one shoulder and under the other) like an archery quiver. I actually used to take my golf clubs to the course this way, though I only had a few blocks to ride. The Sterling wave cases come with a double shoulder strap for wearing backpack style, that would also work.

I just don't like the idea of attaching it to the handlebars or anywhere it could interfere with the proper operation of the bike.

One of the reasons I got the wave case is because of the back pack like straps so like yourself I can take the motorcycle to the hall.

If I hit the ground, or Heaven forbid anything else, the case is on my back, and if anything is an added protection for my spine. I'm more concerned about the strap... but that probably would tear away. My freinds bike allowed for an easy hookup to the bars w/out any detriments to it, but I live in a 'photo radar' area and if I attached it to mine it would block my speedo. If you have a rack behind the seat I would attach it cross ways to that if the bars don't work... but be cogniscant of your case and wind/air transfer down the road (ie; get a sealed case) so grit doesn't work its way into your cues home!!

Good luck .... and safe riding!!! What kind of bike?? I'm jonesing for some new wheels but it will be a quite a while.....

Yeah, I'm liking the sound of the wave case so far. Gonna see if I can find one to try on.

Thanks for the tips. I'm getting an F800GS. Kind of an outdoor nut, so I wanted something that could do light offroad stuff as well. It's been so long for me, I'd settle for just about anything at this point, though. I just miss riding.

It would be a good idea to take it for a test ride so to speak. I'm not sure how far above shoulder height the top of the case is and if it could knock against the back of a helmet. Like i said before, any case with a shoulder strap worn cross-wise like an archery quiver would work. Because it would run diagonally across your back it would not interfere with the back of your helmet. And this wouldn't cost you any money for a new case.

Here is how I do it.

Cheers,

Dave
