I was just wondering if there should be an "official" name for when a player wins one of the three disciplines (9 Ball Bank, ONe Pocket & 9 Ball) three years in a row.
Winning one of these disciplines is incredibly difficult. Winning two or more of the disciplines in one tournament is even more difficult. However, to win even one discipline three years in a row has to be a MAJOR HURDLE.
I was just wondering if anyone knew if ANY player has ever won the same discipline three years in a row. I would have to imagine that Efren might have had a chance to do it in the one pocket division.
I also wondered if a player were to win the same discipline three consecutive years, he certainly should be entitled to a "Title" and if so what would that title name be. I've suggested on title above and look forward to hearing some other suggestions as well.
Maybe some of the historians of the Derby City Classic can chime in about the records for past years.
Derby City Classic Triple Crown 9 Ball Bank Pool Champion is another.... getting kind of long though (or does that matter).
Here's wishing a really nice guy the best in his quest to three-peat at banks this year.
Maybe a little trophy with three crystal cue balls with the dates and discipline engraved on them would be kind of cool. Just thinking.....
Good luck John Brumback.
Has any DCC player ever won any discipline three years in a row?
