Through the years I've always done the wrap around the block method with great results. as more and more collectors are buying my cues , I know that they want to see a true miter. I have tried and done every method out there. I have the table saw with the 90 degree blade . I can give you at least three reasons why it does not work for me. 1 it tears the on the outside top of the miter cut. 2 when folded its off 2 degrees in to much. yes I could have the blade reground , but when doing anything over 4 veneers it runs out of blade angle. next I did them in the mill I had tear out , wrong angle and takes to dam long. last I went to the table saw and set a fence set up, it did ok. I got the miter angle right but fighting the downward pressure and keeping tight to the fence is a pain . I tried thin 2 sided tape , spary glue worked the best a little on the bottom of the pusher I could do about 8 strips and then it ran out of stick. i found the more downward pressure the better the cut . so I came up with this all I have to do is glue up 6.5 inches of veneer for 4 total veneers .cut .800 wide strips in the band saw and away. it cuts a miter so good you might think it was laser cut. I did the process of it in picture order. I will build these on demand also it will include a new mini saw , this saw is not cheep. the set up will be priced as far as i can.

Darrin,

Is that THK RAIL:shocked2: you are using? That is a very nice and smooth rail.

Kenny
Thanks Kenny, that it is a THK rail system, I forgot to post that. this set up is so smooth you can push it through with your pinky. I feel this is the best mitering system ever made.

Put my order in...

Did I miss understand the last sentence of Darrins post? To me, sounds like you are going to build these if people are interested?

mini mitering machine

Who says you can't teach an old dog a new trick.
I've always been a fan of dedicated machinery, an this one
is truly ingenious. Hat's off to you.

I have seen a good bit of jigs for doing this. What I really like about your jig is having it set up on linear slides. That eliminates the error you might get with a jig held against a fence and pushed through. How do you find time to build cues with all the jigs you are making?
Keep up the good work.

Ok, I finally had time to go to the shop and get some pis of two I just finished with the new miter machine. I can tell you this I've done so many super great points with the wrap around system and never thought you could do a strait miter cut like the wrap around. I think these turned out even better they are almost seamless WOW.I am building these miter machines if you want one . they will be complete no if ands or buts I want to completely set them up so when you get it its ready to run. I have done the numbers 50 different ways to come up with lowest price. I feel 1 nice cue will pay for it and then every time you do veneers you will never have to struggle .I will start PM everyone there is a lot of requests for this so I will do them order. thanks D Hill

cutting extra off in my bandsaw point trimming jig this keeps the fingers away from the blade.
