PLZ HELP.....Mechanic info needed for a friend wanting a table.....

Hey guys got a friend up in northern alabama that got a quote for a 70's GC completely set up for 2500.....

depending on condition and type of work this could be a great deal but I wanted to run the name of the dealer/mechanic by you guys to see what the pros here have to say.......

Rocky Ford of North Alabama Billiard Co.

whats the DL on this guy and his work/business?

If you all don't think he's good business then where can i find a good qualified mechanic around north alabama? And a 9' table lol.......

Seems kinda high priced there GG - especially with condition unknown.
Can't help you with Rocky Ford - maybe PM Mark (perfectpocketz) and see if he knows of him.
 
I was thinking that was pretty high as well... I'd also make sure that at that price they are putting on Simonis cloth...

It depends on the condition. Is 25 too high for this one?;)

If it was in that good of condition, I don't think he'd have to try very hard to sell it. My bet, is that since it is an installer/mechanic selling it, he probably bought it as a good deal from someone who was upgrading. I don't see many people "upgrading" from a GC I that looks that great! :)
 
Ghost- give me a call, I'm headed your way and have GC3's. Will be between Nashville and Huntsville before leaving for Derby

I'm not sure what condition the table was/is in. The price sounded "OK"/good if the table was in good enough shape but what threw me off was when my friend said the guy told him that he would deliver, set up and install the table with his choice of FELT for $2500

i told jason (my friend) that it better be SIMONIS 860 for that price and am waiting to see pics of the table...........

just trying to look out for my buddy and make sure he don't get gaffed........

Is your friend a non smoker? If so he may not be happy with a pool hall table.

Just something to think about.

Depending on condition figure $1200-$1800 as a ballpark for the table alone. The balance is cloth/delivery/setup charge. You mention this being a dealer sale so I'd think a pretty good markup. Sight unseen detailed pics of the table would help.

Suggest checking with Shane (cuephoric) and see what he can offer since he's headed that way - plus you know the setup will be done right.
