How about we have a CTE Cup?

This would rival the Mosconi Cup.

We could have CTE vs. Ghost Ball. 5 man teams

I would bet the intensity of this match would surpass the Mosconi Cup hands down!

Let's settle our differences at the table instead of on the forum!

Another guy that just doesn't "get it". There is a LOT more to pool than just aiming. If you want a fair test, then pit the two camps against each other in just a shot making contest. Neither side can know what the shots are before hand. Each side has to shoot the same shot, so many points per shot.

Oh I get it, but what I hear from so many CTE players is that they "don't miss."

If you never miss, you could be mediocre in every other part of the game, and you'll still win most of the time.

i have used cte for a couple years and missed plenty of shots! easy ones too! i also have played bad shape, hooked myself, made bad reads all using cte.

I have a question here... I know that I am new here... So, I will tread lightly... :)

What about the players that use all available methods? I have been primarily a GB/Feel player my whole life... I just discovered this whole CTE thing... Now I am using both... It seems to me that is the point of learning something, is to make yourself better.

And, yes... I would be glad to be a part of the 4th team. The team that doesn't limit themselves to one method.

Well we could have this CTE vs GB cup or we could just let people get on with what works for them and stop this stupid debate.

However, that does NOT mean that I will not occasionally get sloppy and just assume the ball will drop and not go through the proper steps to make it. It also does not take into account that my stroke may be off, which will throw out any chance of making the ball no matter how you aim. It also does not take into account position play.

Disclaimer: I am not a proponent/opponent of ANY aiming "system". I believe that all systems work and that each individual has the right to choose AND defend which system he/she prefers to use.

Neil, the very quotes you state above can be applied to anyone using ANY type of aiming system. I myself shoot primarily by "feel", knowing where to aim after doing it for 40-plus years. When I miss, it is more than likely for the same reasons you stated in the above quotes. And anyone with any pool mileage on them, the same could be said for them as well, regardless of what aiming system is used.

I don't understand why we continue to criticize those who have found an aiming preference and want to laud its merits here on this forum. We need to have more respect for the different opinions each camp has on the aiming subject. 'Nuff said from me.

Shoot well and enjoy the game, my pool friends!!!

But then what's the point? Non-players/enthusiasts have to discuss something...

I use ghost ball, contact point to contact point, Pro One/CTE/ Perfect Aim, 90/90, edge of shaft to aim point, eclipse, fractional aiming, Put it in the hole, Joe V diamond system, instinctual aiming, DAM, SAM and CAN.

Whose team will I be on?

Quote where someone says they never miss. Otherwise, you're stirring shit.

Joey-

Nice recipe for success. Many ingredients-a cupboard full to choose from.

I was following you until you got to the 'DAM, SAM, and CAN.'
part. Does that go with Green Eggs and Ham? The CAN part is the most difficult for me. Btw Dr Seuss is a doctor of what?

I think JoeyA is a collector-a knowledge collector-seeing and seeking value in a variety of methods. Discover, discuss, study, experiment, familiarize, field trials, adopt, modify or dismiss as warranted after testing. Hmmmm

Take care

I just had a Tin Cup flash back reading this
