Have never seen a Horn sneaky pete, but maybe he did make some. Craigslist Okla. city, sporting goods. Pic of just the butt with black Horn in block letters I think. $600. Sounds too good to be true. Is this a value or what? Just thought I would throw it out there in case somebody cares.
 
I've seen a few Horn sneakies here and there over the past 5-6 years.

I sold Verl Horn sneaky pete on eBay last fall. As I remember it bid to about $160.00

I believe that Ron Hailey made several for Verl as did Jack Shurtz
so if you get one you like it might really be special

Just a little confused here! Why would Haley and Shurtz make them for him? Which part did they make and why?
 
Horn

I went to Verl's shop in 91 or so. I bought a 6 and a 8 point cue. We were playing on the bar box he had set up and he had dozens of sp. He gave me a purple heart cue that he wasn't too pleased with. The points were uneven and it had a pretty beat up shaft. It is unusual because it has a black phenolic joint. I played with it a bit this morning before work,still hits good. Verl was a great guy and a true craftsman.
 
they made them because they were friends and they made the whole sneaky pete,Verl showed both something about making cues in those days,since that time both of these cue makers have gone on to greater achievements
