What is POKER-BREAK???It's Simple!! $10 gets you 3 Breaks - Combine all balls pocketed in those breaks to make your best 5 card poker hand - Each Pocket is a designated suit - Side pockets are WILD! Each ball is a designated face value - 8-ball is WILD & 15 is EXTRA BREAK
Current Progressive Jackpot = $500!!!
Monthly High Hand Jackpot Starts at $100 - and will build as People enter - Additional cash and prizes Given to 2nd and 3rd Highest hands Per month!

The Leader Board and High Hand are to be posted on line at http://www.sharkcity.biz/bar/pool
The Monthly Jackpot is upto $113 - With The Highest hand being a FLUSH
(A-J-10-9-6) of clubs

Daily High-Hand winners have won $25 Giftcards for Shark City
We have ran Poker-Break twice so far, and is currently available at Shark City during the Tuesday night 9-ball tournament.

The goal for Poker-Break is to Build the Jackpots up, and eventually take it on the road. Hopefully you will be seeing Poker-Break in Vegas, Valley Forge, and Louisville next year..
EVENTUALLY - We would like offer per hand payouts (instant win)
possibly Like This....
any 2 pair = $10 (1/1)
Any 3-of-a-kind = $20 (2/2)
Full House = 40 (4/1)
Flush = 50 (5/1)
Straight = 60 (6/1)
Straight flush = 100 (10/1)
Royal Flush = Proggressive

At big tournaments we plan to offer daily high hand winners along with this.

We are encuring costs for trademarking and copywrights all of which need to be completed prior to taking it on the road.. Right now 100% of Poker-breaks revenue is going back into Poker-break.... Paying back the progressive and monthly jackpot, Daily winners, advertising, materials, lawer fees for trademarking, booth cost.... etc.

So what do you think?
 
I think that is a great ides. Sounds like a lotta fun and doesn't hurt individuals wallet. ou might be on to something here. Combining poker with pool. Rep to you sir

Well.. If you get someone that cant seem to make a ball there has to be a means to an end.. Besides 3 breaks and if you you make the 15 you get an extra break - One guy got 5 breaks total on his turn..

The good news is if you SCRATCH or Fly the cue-ball off the table.. The break doesn't count - You get to do it over. This seems to be taking up enough time per breaker - so letting someone do over their drybreaks would be a little too much... But thanks, inititially we thought this same thing... These are the reasons that we decided against it.
 
i think this is a fair way to get more peole involved into the poker break.. if we did that here in austin,tx everyone would love it.. it also would bring in more people to the tournaments since there is a poker break like this on:thumbup:

Thanks Patches!!.. I hope that one day we will be able to bring Poker Break to The APA National tournaments - So keep Shooting and Maybe we will See eachother!!

Thanks for your oppinion, and I appreciate your honesty! This is why I Started this thread to hear ALL Feedback... I actually agree, Pool doesnt need a new format!... I too have seen new games come and go and people trying to create new and different variations of pool... But this has no intention of being any type of alternative to "real" pool.. Simply just a fun addition for people to try if they would like to. When I say that I hope to bring Poker-Break to Vegas and other Large tournaments around the country - I mean it as something on the side as a Break contest... Sure some may say that this is a good Idea to make into an actual game and format it as such... But I disagree - Our goal is not to change the way pool is played, just to help inhance the tournament experience for the players... Thanks again for your Honesty! - Rep to you for that!

Well thought out response. I agree. This is really no different that break pots that build-up except you get odds on your money and pay for as many chances as you'd like. I'm not sure if a royal is physically possible if the balls are racked randomly. Can you set the balls however you like?

The One ball is always in front - The 8-ball in its Place (center) and the 15 is placed in one of the 2 spots Behind the 8... Other than That the balls are random... The Royal is meant to be Hard to get... Thats why we start the progressive so high... I hope that the Jackpot gets over 1000 before someone gets it so that its a Real nice little pay-day for the winner!

Just because a pool table and balls are used doesn't mean this is a new pool game. It is more of a gambling gimmick than anything else.

That being said, I like the idea!

Here's the MOVE---

Don't make the 8 wild... make the 14 wild. That way, the balls can be their true value up to the 13. Having a 9 really mean 8 is way too confusing. Make the 9 be worth 9 and so forth up to the last two--- which are the special balls.

I like this idea, and it does make sense, But Racking the 14 in the middle would be kinda odd... I will work on this and play with the idea, just hope its not too late to change it...
