F/S F/T Brand NEW JD high-end

I have seen in cues to clothes to cologne that the people that can afford the big named cues will buy them others that aren't able to might like the similar design will take the lesser name and get the cheaper one.I know Walmart is world renowned for selling knockoff looking products to get the people of lesser income to buy at a fair price and still get pretty good quality. It's Capitalism at it's finest and will be around for the rest of eternity.Being good friends with him,it is nice to see you stick up for your friend.Takecare

One last thing

The one thing I have noticed in countless cue sales is the comparison to Southwest cues.I read stuff like,Southwest hit,Southwest style,Southwest style ringwork.I think all of these could be taken as a copy if you wanted but if I criticize one I have to criticize all of them. The same rules have to apply to all cuemakers if were going to hold JD accountable for making a very similar cue not identical.I hope all Cuemakers succeed,it's a tough gig.:)

No...what people mean when they refer to Southwest cues is simply that Southwest is the benchmark that they are all trying to meet...to build a cue that plays as good as SW, to build a cue of as good quality as SW.

Check out the cues of the top notch guys...Scruggs, Mottey, Hercek, Tascarella, etc. None of them have ever had to stoop to copying each other's designs to make ends meet...it is called integrity. If you feel that what JD did is OK, then I would have to say that I feel that you missed the boat on this issue.

As for me sticking up for Joe C...he is a big boy and is perfectly capable of standing up for himself, but I do feel very upset by this theft of design that you feel is OK...I also wonder why you feel the need to "stick up" for Joel Davidus. Perhaps he can post on here and enlighten everyone about this matter.

In no means am I standing up for him but I do see lots of cues with the Southwest ringwork and a copy to look very similar or maybe to pass as a southwest to the naked eye.I don't believe that it's been used as a benchmark but as a another way to say you can own a cue that looks like a Southwest, hits like a Southwest, but costs less.I can't say all of them do this but I think alot of them do because Cuemakers know people might really want a Southwest but can't afford it so they make a real good attempt zoning in on that market.Like I said before,I hope they all make money.:)Takecare
