whats the best glue for a steel joint?

I've got a cheap cue with a steel joint that came loose. Its threaded, and I've tightened it down, but I was just wondering if I should glue it, and what kind of glue I should use? Super glue? Wood glue? Elmers paste? Lol. Thanks.

You might be careful if you do that. If you glue it on wrong, you could be asking for trouble. I would save yourself the headache and get a cuemaker to look at it. Better yet, if you are the original owner, you might get it fixed at no charge.

If it simply threads on and stops when it bottoms out, use slow working time epoxy. This is one of the few repairs you can do yourself without needing a cue-repairman. Be careful not to get the glue on the joint screw.
 
No, it's not rocket science BUT....there's a real good possibility that the joint will have to be faced after the epoxy cures.
That's not DIY unless you can run a lathe.
 
I've found that it's best to clean off as much of the old glue as possible, very lightly reface the forearm, then reface the joint once it's glued.
But on a cheapo, you could probably get away with just putting some epoxy on there, and cranking 'er down!

I'm pretty sure there wasn't any glue on it to begin with, lol.

joint collar

I set that joint coallr with the shaft while rolling it on a table. Use a small amount of epoxy and srew the collar on. wipe off any excess epoxy and screw on the shaft. if it does not roll out straight adjust the collar a bit and try it again until the cue/shaft roll true together. this method works well if you cannot reface shaft and forearm.
