Are any of the top bar table players going to make it to this tournament?

3 STAR HOTELS at Roach Coach Motel pricing.

Priceline.com
Choose: Name your own price.
Choose: your nights you want to stay and check out date.
Choose: Lafayette, LA
Choose: 3 Star Hotel
Bid: $37

They will tell you that 3 star hotel prices is $94 a night and that your bid has practically no chance of being awarded but stick with your $37 bid.

You WILL get lucky and get the Mariott Courtyard or the Hilton Hotel, which are both 13 minutes away from the pool room. Either way, both hotels are excellent at roach coach motel prices.

You can thank JoeyA or BigTruck (originator of the name your price deal for pool players) with a cerveza at the tournament. :D :yeah:

Flying in???

After you get the 3 Star Hotel deal for $37, priceline will send you an email asking you if you want to rent a car for $15 a day. WTH?

Then on top of that, you pay $40 to enter a pool tournament with 128 players from bangers to champions, action everywhere and a Calcutta that would make Bill Gates, well it might make him burp. $40,000.00 is $40,000.00 even if you are a billionaire.

It's a WEEKEND tournament. If you fly into New Orleans airport, you can slide on down to Buffalo Billiards and probably win more than all of your expenses with that quick trip.

Did anyone mention what a show Chris Miller puts on as Auctioneer Extraordinaire?

Corey and Johnny prefer the big tables but you're right, it is surprising that neither have taken a shot at the enormous Calcutta money in Lafayette, LA.

You can fly into New Orleans (MSY) rent a car for $20 bucks a day, rent a hotel room at a 3 star hotel for less than $40, run over to Buffalo's or Banger's paradise and pick up enough money to cover all of your expenses.

Heck, they could even stop off in Baton Rouge on the way over and play Mike Black and company some high dollar pool and make enough that it wouldn't matter if they won the White Diamond tournament.
I think the Lafayette, LA tournament may be one of the BEST VALUED tournaments around. Excellent accomodations, great food at White Diamonds and lots of action. I'm surprised that Mike Dechaine and others haven't visited also. It's worth a shot in my opinion.

I know Brandon Shuff and Cliff Joyner continue to make a living off of us poor Southern boys and we keep coming back for more. (I tried to put the bite on Cliff for a hundred. (He said he wished he could. Humprey said I dogged the bite and should have asked for two hundred and then just accepted the hundred.) :D

Afterward, they could challenge Robley to some nine ball and see how they liked it. :yeah:

Grrrr

Goodness gracious. You're next door.

Gas up the Rolls and come on over. The 3 star hotels are cheaper than roach motels in Lafayette if you go the make a deal route with priceline.com

It is about a 7 hour drive I think. If I could afford to go, just to go, I totally would. I have never seen Chris Miller in action - I know I'm missing out... Dang it! Plus, the chances of me making any money in that tournament are slim to none considering who all shows up, but hey, you never know... LOL! :)

Keepin it real,
Amanda :)
