First Break is CLOSE to opening

Just got back from First Break. I just dropped in to check it out for a few minutes and see who was there. Didn't play any pool. Still smoke free with a smoking room just inside the door on the left. Same basic layout but everything is new. Nice granite bar tops. Biggest difference is the bathroom. Before the fire it was in serious need of attention. Now it looks like something from a fancy restaurant or upscale hotel.
Good to see some of the old faces there and I got to meet Andrew Manning and bother him some while he was trying to practice up for the tournament.
Tomorrow night I'll be back to actually play some pool and see how those Diamonds play. I hope we can get a table. I have a feeling it might be jammin'.

Well, just so you know, they don't have their funny table without pockets yet. About three weeks before that comes in.
When I left last night Andrew and Kid Dynomite were still in the tourney. Andrew was playing Anthony still on the winner's side. Kid was battling on the one loss side.
Fun night. They are going to have another tourney tonight. Not sure whether it will be same format as last night (handicapped) or not thought.
I'll be there at some point tonight though not playing.

When I left last night Kid was still battling it out on the one-loss side. I played pretty well my first 2 1/2 matches (squeaked through against Kid D, beat Ernesto, was leading Anthony 3-2, was running out, had a straight-in 9-ball in the side), but I dogged that 9 and it was like someone threw a switch. Couldn't get any focus back at all for the rest of the night. I think it got a little late for me. Then again, even if I had regained top form in my last match, I can't say I would have beaten Mole; he was running out from everywhere.
I do like those new tables, though! The place definitely got nicer.

Sorry for being anti-social purp, next time I may not be so preoccupied wondering where my stroke went. I did find it during my first match, I'm sure you'll be relieved to know. And maybe next time you'll be able to shoot a few with me!
