Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Wasn't a horrible turn out. Tourny started slow, but wasn't to bad a deal.

Overheard: A race to seven will kill a guy.

I agree it was a longer race, but it was fun, I thought.

I look forward to playing one-pocket again. It was a good tournament from that aspect.

Who won?

Ping pong is fun, not really too hard to pick up. I miss the good ol days of playing it in college.

Do you all have your starting times/matches posted for the VNEA tournament yet? I just noticed it on our local web site. I only mentioned this because I noticed that Troy (T-dog) drew Jamie Fenton in a noon match.

I hate going to a state or out of town tournament and drawing somebody from my home town right off the bat...I don't care who it is. Good luck to everyone.

If you want to visit that site, go to camdencr.in2pool.com and you can see your starting time, table and opponent.

Look for flying balls, chalk and cues at approx 12:08:32 at the Sullivan center. They will not be thrown by me :)

You have a ping-pong table and a poker table at work? I'm officially jealous.

Only once a month plus, they dont let me play poker. They are just dumb house players. we also have a Wii and a few other activities. Its nice.

Eh...Phil Tindrell playing in the open 9 ball, WTF lol?

Once again, everyone should be able to get some 'open' money before moving up. As silly as that sounds and as hard as it is to make money playing pool, I see no problem with this. Flame away bastards, jk. lol

Do you know if they have brackets up somewhere?

I am more laughing about it, no bigge. It should be an interesting week.

Gary Benson is running that tournament this year. He doesn't usually provide the brackets but you can see who your opponent is by looking at the table number and time (you probably already knew that). If you're looking to see who your next opponent is, you'll just have to wait for a couple of weeks.

At least you finally know the who, when and where at this tournament...it's always been 'show up at noon and see who (if) you play'. They're making progress...slowly but (not so) surely.

Troy...I don't play until 4 but I'd sure like to see your game. Sounds like some extra entertainment might be involved. I'll try to get there in time.

Sure makes it hard for those real Open players though. That's why so many don't want to go and why so many try to get into a lower division. I guess if he don't win it, it's only because he got beat by a better Master player in the Open division ;).

See you in a couple of weeks...Ken
