Cue Building School Question

Hello Fellow AZBer's,

I have found very little information on this and I am reaching out the community for information. Again I will preface this with I am currently in Afghanistan and will be looking for this when I return to the states.

I am looking for a cue building school or teacher as I would love to learn the craft. I am facinated with the quality cues that I have seen and could only imagine the personal pride and precision that goes into it.

If anyone can make suggestions or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

when we spoke last week, i was kinda busy,
so i didnt really get the chance to tell you,
that i have been wanting to do SOMETHING for an active service member

had i been i able to complete the "cue buildoff cue" in time,
i was going to donate mine to someone in the military

anyways, i forgot where you told me you lived ,
oh yeah, arizona
but if you can manage to get to cincy ohio,
you are more than welcome to come & hang out and make some saw dust with me

rather than just hand someone a cue,
this would be a much better way for me to "pay it forward"
i'm not known as a cue genius by any stretch,
but i'll show you what i know and how I do it.

the only conditions are

1) if you get here with all ten fingers & ten toes,
you gotta leave with ten fingers.
toes aren't "normally" required for building cues.
if you have your toes near any machinery, i'm sending you home :D

2) when we get DONE working,
we toss back some coors lights here or at the local bar & shoot some pool

3) YOU have to build YOUR cue. start to finish

until then, keep safe over there ;)
and thanks for your service to your country

Mr. Hartman,

PM Sent. BTW, favorite quote from your site...

"expected completion date, whenever i damn well get around to it, LOL"

Thanks
Carl

Put it to her this way....Would you rather have me in Afghanistan...or Ohio?

Once she gives you the answer, you are on your way!!!!!

That is sure nice of you to offer some advice to an aspiring cuemaker. I have also wanted to build cues one day. I was even thinking about moving up that way and apprenticing with sherm cues. We had talked about it, but my father had heart surgery at the time and i had him move in with me since that time. I luckily have some great cuemakers here in arkansas that i can see anytime. I just really thought that was a nice gesture. If im ever in cincy i will definitely look you up sir.
