Gold Crown Difference

bstroud

Deceased
I had a GC 1.

What is the difference between the various models?

Not appearance just pocket cut? The depth of the slate? Rubber?

Thanks,

Bill Stroud

Bill,

I'm not the expert on it, but do know a little...

GC I & II had pinned slates (pins between the 3 sections). The GC I had fixed feet and the GC II had adjustable feet.

GC III did away with the pinned slates. Because of this, slates would "pop" on some tables.

GC IV big changes. Slate levelers, different pocket liner (sits flush with the rail), different rail rubber?

Thats about it, for a quick brain dump.

And I can tell you the GC4 trim sits flush (around the edge of the rails), so the friggin chalk is going on the floor if you bump it!!!

Bill,

I think you would get better responses to this if you posted in the Ask A Mechanic section of the forums. Better yet, just send a PM to realkingcobra (Glen Hancock). He will have the answers for you.

Good Luck,

Randy

I think the biggest difference is the rubber.
On Anniversaries and Gold Crown ones...Brunswick SuperSpeed Cushions
was a sign of quality.
On the twos it started to go down hill..that and the wood in the rails.
On the threes, much of the rubber was a joke..
..don't have the same respect for the superspeed name now.
