Your (and other CTE users') lack of basic comprehension makes it impossible to have an intelligible conversation with you and is the real reason these threads go on forever. There aren't any real disagreements - for that to be true you'd have to understand what you're disagreeing with. There are just endless repeating loops of the same points being made and misunderstood, over and over and over.

im at A+ i guess? i suck i also dont promote anything and do not care if anyone chooses to use cte or not. I will help anyone thats ask and i enjoy discussing it and find cte interesting. Some have trouble understanding this.

You do realize you and a couple of your buddies are the only ones who keep bring this "exact" word in to these cte threads now and keep this issue going. Every time people try and get passed that word you keep bringing us back to it, your stuck on it. What is exact is stans description of it, he say he comfortable describing the system in an exact way to people now.

When I watched Stevie Moore play in the last few years, he often bent over quite a bit to sight something from a considerable distance and then kind of crept into the shooting position. In other words, it seems like he is getting his visuals from down low rather than standing upright.

I'm going to go make a couple of grilled bacon-cheese sandwiches and finish off the Petite Sirah we had for dinner.

This really sum up my experiences with aiming systems. Over the years, I was exposed to various difference aiming systems and through practice,practice, and more practice, I took what works for me and applied it to my game. Knowing is one thing but execution is another!!! Great post and Rep to Manwon!!

Is it an aiming system yes!!!
Oh and by the way, in my opinion what ever system you choose to use NOTHING will substitute for Practice practice practice, and if you practice long enough you will not need a system because you will create your own and that is secret to playing good pool. Some will agree with this and some will disagree, some will buy the latest Tip, Shaft, or Cue because they believe it will change their broken game, and some will never learn that there are no quick fixes or short cuts only more practice!!!!!!

Look, if Stan Shuffett wants everyone to understand what he means when he says:

and if that meaning is different from what an average person would infer, then he should clarify the web page so that you don't have to.

As far as drawing through the center of a ball, I re-uploaded a few balls separately to the warehouse. (I hid the latitude circles so that they don't show up when 'View>Edge Style>Display Edges' is checked. Eventually I'll upload all of the balls as separate entities...maybe .) The address again is:

I mention them because they contain guidelines through the center of the balls in the three axis directions. If you toggle on 'View>Face Style>X-ray', you can then see the center of a ball and draw lines through it. You can then turn x-ray off and hide or delete the guide lines using the view menu. Just a thought.

Unfortunately, another thing I don't yet know how to do with SketchUp is tell it to put its camera at a certain location in space.

Maybe you already located and watched it, but check out the tutorial on Position Camera/Walk Around. If you also haven't done so, you might want to view the one on the tape measure tool. As an example, in the following diagram, a guide point is set 30" behind the cueball along the edge-to-B line. Then another one is set in the vertical direction (about 16" or 18" - I forgot the exact value).



I then set the position camera tool at the upper guide point, clicked and dragged to the center of the 1-ball. This yielded:



I'm sure you would have gotten this in short order (if you haven't already), just trying to facilitate. As I indicated in one of the PMs, I'm rusty and had to go over the relevant videos myself.

I browse a website that has a product that might hold some interest for me. I read some verbiage on the product's page. I interpret that verbiage at face value. I make a choice to buy the product or not.

If the product's description on its website should be clarified (as you seem to suggest it should), then it chould be clarified.

It is irrelevant whether I own the DVD.

And, to rob you of any thunder you might be preparing, it is precisely because of this apparent lack of rigor that I haven't ordered the DVD.

For 3 years or so, I taught CTE and then PRO ONE. I was not able to describe the system in precise steps. That was frustrating and through determination I finally figured it all out.

Now, I am thrilled to say that CTE is systematic and EXACT. As I instruct I can tell a student exactly what to do visually and motor-wise.

The problem is the inconsistent use of the word exact, even by him. He says the description is exact which is true about being able to explain the use of the system, however he then says that there "is an exact system" which implies the system is exact.


And no I do not and never will get the DVD.

Even Stan's description of how to use the system is not exact. It's vague and incomplete in critical areas (how to position your eyes using the "aimline visual", where to place your bridge, etc.) leaving interpretations up to the user. There is no useful sense in which CTE is exact (or "precise" or "complete" or whatever word you like).

Swest has not started a single thread in regards to aiming.

CTE proponents, on the other hand, start their threads talking about how they are making even the most difficult shots with ease and without hesitation. They also claim that nothing else has propelled their games the way that CTE has. Also mentioned is that CTE is the most 'exact' system - that right there infers that no other system is as good. People also claim to run out from everywhere using CTE. One of the funny parts to me is that these are claims made by people that have been playing for as long as I've been alive. I expect everybody and their mama would be joining this craze if all of the claims were true and not, at best, blown out of proportion.

I could go on and on and even dig up threads started outside of AZB, but you know as well as I do that it is just a repeat of what we see here.
