Had Mike make me I think about the 5th cue from him :D
Anyway, I wanted something simple and old school. He NAILED it and like always, it plays great, like all his cues do.

Butt and forearm are cocobolo with birdseye maple front. The birdseye is not stained but has a real nice honey color to it.

Pics are from Mike and he's no photographer...LOL

Very nice cue Koop. Mine should be done any time now.

I can't tell from my iPhone what wrap is on there.

Congrats,
Chris

Congrats Koop, the cue looks great. Simple elegance.

I also have a Webb in the works...looking to join the club soon.

Take care.

Hey Chris,

Funny you should ask. I wanted black leather because I thought it would look nice. However, since Mike knows me so well, he refused and told me he could make black linen look just as nice. He was only saving himself the aggravation of removing the leather and putting linen on :D

Hope all is well bud and great meeting you at VF.

Thanks Patrick, you won't be disappointed, I guarantee it.

Everything is going great! It was also a pleasure to meet you as well. Let me know about the shoot around you mentioned. I'd be interested in coming up north.

Take care,
Chris

I'm glad you like it, Your a good man and a true friend. And as you already know. It's been a rough road rebuilding the wood inventory after last years flooding to build cues again. Hopefully Mother nature will take it easy on us for a while. A quote that I'll probably remember for the rest of my life when people heard all of New England got nailed with massive flooding will be, OHHH, I didn't think that had any effect on you. My response, I'm sorry, Do you know where Rhode Island is? I have lots to do, I don't call it work because I love what I do, I won't be taking orders for quite a while, because it's the right thing to do. Some of my suppliers were very kind also in sending raw woods to help. They saw the news, they called, they sent wood. They are true friends. Some people also asked if I would use other makers blanks, THE ANSWER IS: Absolutely not. I like controlling the cue I build from soup to nuts. I'll get them done one at a time. That's what you expect of me, That's what I expect of me. It should be a compliment but it's not. When you say to a Cue maker, I like your cues, I have a blank by so an so, will you finish it. Sorry, NO! If you like a Cue makers cues and want one, and want to hold him accountable for the cue and it's construction. PLEASE! "LET HIM BUILD IT", 40 years ago, things were different, communication was different, The few who didn't or couldn't build, bought the blanks. Guess what? It's not 40 years ago. I build my own, I can define every aspect of what I construct and how I do it.

Thanks Mike, I feel the same about you my friend.

You can't blame them for not knowing where Rhode Island is though. In all honesty, it's so small that if I am driving fast enough I can fart and be through the state by the time it ends :D

Reminds me of a quote from the movie "Arthur"......

"..she comes from a country so small, Rhode Island could kick the crap out it in a war...."
