>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FS Mottey Monster Cue -- Perfect In All Respects <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

If any one has a photo of the Ginacue that Mottey allegedly made exact copies of when he made the Mottey cues depicted in this thread, please post it. Thanks.

Oddly, very tough to find pics of it. I heard that it was the cue representing his work in the Smithsonian. If that's true, maybe it's just a matter of starting a 'Smithsonian Cues' thread in the gallery?

Here you go Mike...

Nope. That's not right.

As in, it's not his Smithsonian cue?

Hey Jamie - you're our cue guy, so give us a BIG pic.

As in his Smithsonian cue is NOT in the Smithsonian. I don't think that's the cue he made for the Smithsonian, but it might be. What I do know for sure is Ernie didn't donate the cue he made for the exhibition all so it could sit in some closet.

So whatever happened to that cue? Maybe one of the Mottey owners acquired it and used it for firewood?

I'm still thinking that the cue Jamie is showing is not the Smithsonian Gina. For some reason I'm thinking the Smithsonian one was brownish but I could be way wrong. I'm working from foggy hazy memory here.

Lets leave Mike's thread alone.

Call me if you want.

I know I am only a stupid european and know nothing about cues, but I have to tell you guys something ;)

1. Pauls cues are copys of Ernies feather cue design - nothing more to say about that, but like Jamie said,
maybe that will be a big reason why the will be worth a lot of money - a much discussed theme, you know

2. The "feather cue" (I think that was the name, but I am not sure about that) is not Ernies Smithsonian cue.
Why !? Because there is NO CUE from Ernie Guiterez in the Smithsonian cue collection - and that I know for sure

Eric"h" ----- was there and took pictures from all of them :eek:

Here's a few guys, I've got around 800 pictures of various Ginacues that I've collected over the years...

Ha.. I can't remember but I guess I got the top two from your website... whenever I see different pictures of Ginacues I snag them. :)

It's a beautiful cue for sure...

Did Ernie make one with ring work exactly like the ring work in my Mottey?

also if you look close.. besides the ringwork, the butt section is alittle different where the ivory dott is, in ernies cue, the snake wood extends to touching it..where on the mottey they are just small points they do not touch the ivory dott.. mottey just inlayed around the dott..

I hate it to ask that question, Mike, but do you think it would make any difference if the answer is YES or NO

Different ring work, different woods, different wrap, no wrap..............., makes no difference in my humble opinion.
The cue is an awesome piece and I like it, but its still done after Paul has seen Ernies design.

That said, for most of the people out there it will still be copy, no matter how marvelous it is.

Eric"h" ----- hates people without own ideas ;)
