Like the title says, I have an affinity for atypical cues. Whether it be unusual woods or veneer color choices, whatever it is that makes them different, I truly do enjoy uniqueness.

There was a recent thread asking if a real man could play with a purple cue.

There was another thread by krelldog sharing pics of his beautiful (and colorful) new Richard Chudy cue.

In honor of those two threads, the following are two of what I consider to be my "unusual' cues.

The first is an Alex Brick / John Davis blank cue in pink ivory with ivory diamond inlays. The pink ivory points going into the bacote forearm are veneered from outside in, blue/yellow/blue/black. The cognac lizard wrap ties in very nicely, IMO.

The second cue is a Richard Chudy with a gorgeous olivewood buttsleeve and forearm featuring purpleheart points with his signature one-sided veneers with matching veneered ringwork. I had a burgandy lizard wrap installed.

I wouldn't tend to take these out to use as players since they would definitely get too much notice, but I have taken them on occasion. Mostly for my buddies reactions. :p

So, here's two of mine, please add to this thread with whatever unusual/unique cues you might have.

Best,
Brian kc

Both of those are very nice. The only cue I've ever seen with pink ivory is an older abear.

I share this one because of the size and weight. This is my 3 year old son's 50 inch player. Birdseye and cocobolo, leather wrap, with a weight of 13.5 ounces. Courtesy of Steve Lomax. He is the man.

I've got a Winston cigarettes pool cue that looks just like a giant tapered cig:

(bad pic, but you get the idea).

I suppose that isn't what you meant by the thread title, but it is unusual, and almost always gets a laugh when I break it out.

The "filter" (butt) even has little hash marks just like a real cig butt, and the shaft is pure white, so it looks like the paper on a smoke

I'll see if I can take a better picture.

...also I smoke Winstons so its the perfect joke cue for that. :)

A fellow Phoenician...

The cue is a salesman's sample cue by Viking. It gives the salesman the ability to carry one cue that has a little of everything available on a Viking, from mother of pearl rings, to different colors of wraps, forearm stains, and even ring colors for the joint rings.

People get a really strange look on their faces when you pull this baby out of it's case. I let a guy talk me out of it a couple of years ago and he says it's his favorite playing cue!

I share this one because of the size and weight. This is my 3 year old son's 50 inch player. Birdseye and cocobolo, leather wrap, with a weight of 13.5 ounces. Courtesy of Steve Lomax. He is the man.

This is one awesome piece of birdseye!

I played the guy in Hung Chow once...He can't play a lick without that big cue...but he does bet high.

The pink ivory cue would be an unreal combination of colors in a butterfly point design.

thanks for posting, funny its pink ivory the big seller

I'm wondering what colors you guys have painted your Cars, after seeing the cues. I have used Pink Ivory for inserts before, with a 3/8-10 pin. mark

Both of those are very nice. The only cue I've ever seen with pink ivory is an older abear.

I have come across some really interesting cues done using pink ivory.

There were two, in particular, done by Dave Kikel (KQ) that were absolutely insane. I remember one of them he called "Pink Dianthus". I tried to google it but came up empty. If someone knows where his two monster pink ivory cues are, please post a link. The ringwork is insane!
