how many stroke type do you know?

I see many american stroke type ( follow through the ball), but i also see yang ching shun stroke type (it's more like knocking to the cue ball) and what's amaze me , he seem to make just the same power with his stroke.

the other stroke i recognize is jeff de luna stroke. he grip is loosse but have so many power produce by his stroke.

i'm really confuse.... what kind of stroke is the better and the true stroke.

The answer is the one that you can teach yourself to do accurately and repeatably, especially under pressure. Anything demanding excessive movement or grip pressure is difficult to make easily repeatable. The pendulum swing is the easiest, most accurate way to teach yourself, imo.

First, give me your explanation of a stroke. Then we can talk apples-apples from there.

The answer is whatever works for you. It maybe one type or it maybe a combination of different types.

The confusion is coming from not trying to find what works for you. You are not any of the people you mentioned so what works for them may not work for you.

Also, falling into the belief that there is one way to play pool doesn't help with the confusion factor.

Like said, find one or a combination of few that work for you. Most of my time I use pendulum stroke, where my upper arm is still throughout the shot. However, when more power is required, I tend to drop by elbow just a bit to gather additional acceleration by involving shoulder muscles into play. It does reduce the accuracy, but practice makes perfect.
