New from Ed Prewitt. "Merry Hoppe" cue with highly figured birdseye forearm and Gaboon ebony rear with ivory Hoppe ring. Ivory joint. Paua dots deco rings at joint. 12.82mm premium maple shaft (3.73 oz.) with ivory ferrule and Moori tip. Black Tiger pigskin leather wrap. Has double spliced purpleheart underwrap handle. Could you tell me what kind of hit the cue has. Is it a soft hit with a dull sound or does it have a ping to it.
 
It's a solid flat-face big pin hit Mike. The best hit there is IMO. I play with one myself and there is no cue I've ever owned in the past or now that is any better. If fact, my Prewitt cue does 100% what I want it to. When I miss balls, it is never equipment error--it is always operator error! These cues make a sweet crack sound. They do not ping and would not call the hit soft. Ed's cues play on the firm side and are very responsive. Unlike many of the older cues with the thicj Taiwanese taper, the Prewitt cues of the last 2-1/2 to 3 years have the more playable North American taper which is firm but not as stiff as the Taiwanese taper. I hope that helps. I'm so confident that you'll love the cue I'd send a cube of tan chalk for you to put 5-10 minutes of play on it. i've had a couple of prewitts with this joint set up and they are monster players.... you will not have an issue with their playability and the fact that this one is full splice is even better....

Thanks for the comments. This cue is built with an A-joint and double finger splice underwrap handle for stability. The forearm is cored as in all Prewitt cues. Just wanted to be clear. Thanks, Martin
 
I just picked up this same model cue while in Vegas for the BCA. This is the ultimate player cue but maintains the high end custom cue feel.
