Dust deputy on sale

You will never look back after getting one.

Just bought one. Plan to use it with my portable dust collector. Emptying 5-gallon buckets is easier & cleaner than emptying flimsy bags. I'll use it with my shop vac, too. Should save a bundle of time on cleaning the filter. If it works I might have to get me a big one for the floor model dust collector. Cyclone dust collectors are expensive, but something like this would be a cheap cheat.

Thanks for the tip Joey! Just ordered mine, going to save a lot of time messing with the shopvac!

Found a Grizzly GO441 about 60 miles from my house, complete with remote and in excellent working condition, for 400 dollars. Guy was liquidating his shop and going on 6 month vacation.

Wish I had more money at the time. Would have bought his planer(15" Grizzly with Byrd head 800.00), saw(12" Grizzly with digital blade tilt and custom tables 1500.00, but he would have taken less) and his 12" jointer(another Griz 1000.00)....all in great condition.

To do a test, I cleaned the shop vac bucket and put some water in there for the fine dust to settle.
There wasn't much fine dust on that water after cutting a while.
I put some water in the deputy's bucket, it was a goop after a few shafts.

Which did you purchase, the D.I.Y. for 40.00 or the Deluxe for 80.00 or one of the other more expensive outfits?

The $80 Dick.
It comes with two buckets and the hose.
I bolted one bucket to a table. That's where the dust bucket goes into for easy removal.
Works realy well.

Sweet! That's the one I figured every one was getting. I like doing myself but the time and cost of tracking down the correct size hose and such usually turns out to be non-economical. I've been thinking about one of these for quite a while now. It has to be much, much easier and cleaner to empty than a shop-vac where you must get all of the debris out of the filter to be able to use again.

I bought the $40 rig. Already have all the hoses & buckets. Just wanted to try the cyclone to see if it actually works. If it's half as good as advertised & reviewed, then it's gonna be worth it's weight in gold.

I'm sure these are great, & I may even try one, but in terms of profit margin, someone is making a killing on these... Is it just me, or should there be a shopvac with this built in? There's no way that I'm the first to have this thought.

Was thinking the same thing. I imagine as these become more popular the drive to incorporate the design into a shop-vac will increase & we'll see it. But then you got an expensive shop-vac.

I sure hope it's not going to be made overseas.
Good news is you can find shop vacs on craigslist pretty cheap very often.

I think you will find it works better than you can imagine until you see it. I had mentioned in another thread that I use them and Joey asked if they really work. Then I got a PM from him saying "Holy Dirtbag Batman, there's NOTHING in my shop vac, it's all in the Dust Deputy can."

And as someone else mentioned, you can use the HEPA Allergan filter in your shop vac to filter out the finest stuff that you can't even see, and the filter will not get clogged up for a LONG time.

Let us know what you think when you get yours.

Go get one if you use a Shop Vac.

Good link Joey. I'm thinking about getting a second one as I think it will be easier to have one on both sides of my shop rather than running a long hose across the floor - I tend to trip over them. Plus the longer hose you run, the more flow loss you have.

I just wish they charge quite so much for shipping - $12.50 to me - so that gets it up to $91.50 and a week to wait on shipping or I can drop by Woodcraft near my work and get one for $99 plus 3-1/2% sales tax but no wait. I guess $10 is ten bucks - I should be happy to have choices.
