The Banks are now open. Bank & kick with confidence & avoid ball-in-hand

Hey Clyde, just played around with the free version of your app. It said that one rail in the side isn't possible off the long rail. Maybe something you should look into fixing.

A couple of comments:

1. From the website: "This Screen allows the user to select the appropriate table size matching the BSC with the actual table being played on. This is very important to accurate calculations."

How is a seven foot table any different from a nine foot table when you are using diamond units of measurement? As long as the width of the playing field is half the length, the size of the table should not matter.

2. Perhaps I missed it, but it appears that you are using the diamond projection on the rail rather than shooting through the diamond. You may want to make sure this is clear to users.

3. As this is a calculation device, I don't think there is much chance of it ever being legal, but may help beginning bankers. And, the price is right, assuming that you own one of those infernal phones.

If you were red flagged on a side pocket bank it's because the angle of entry into the side pocket gave the object ball less than one radius clearance when passing the leading tit. Try it with a wider angle. The ball must have sufficient room to clear the tit. As stated above by "Willybetmore" equipment differs. You may in fact be able to make the shot you plotted on a given table but not on every table.

Thanks for the input,
Clyde

1. The choice of table will change the diameter of the balls. If your BSC is set to a 7' table and you're playing on a 9' table, all calculations will come up short. All things must remain relative, Ball size / table size. When you change tables in the real world the balls stay the same but on the BSC the table stays the same.

2. All solutions clearly state "Hit rail __ at the __ diamond. We give and display the impact point on the rail the ball must make contact with. It's not a shoot through method. Hit the rail right here.

3. I can't see any governing bodies allowing this to be used during tournament play while you're at the table however, when you are waiting you can be studying. That said I'm sure there will be some players out there pressing the issue until a ruling is made. It was created however, because I've taken too many beatings by lesser shooters that played better safes and I couldn't see the angles. Now I can. Hook me any way you wish. If the safe isn't air tight, I like my chances. This thing has improved my kick game easily by 3 balls.

4. I'm not advertising for apple but the iPod touch 8g can be picked up pretty cheep now and a lot of people are using that for personal music. It will operate the devise. I had to have a starting point and apple has the largest foot print and easiest platform, and it's beautiful on the iPad. I hope to broaden our foot print soon but I need capitol, so the sooner I get it selling to apple users the sooner it will be available on droid.

Thanks for the input Ted,
Good luck and good banking,
Clyde

I was ONE of the BCA Instructors who tested this product. Pretty amazing tool. I spent more time with it after I approved the product, it really works.

This is a must for most bank shot work-outs.

Randyg,
Your post speaks volumes. I'm not sure a simple thank you does this justice. I greatly appreciate our words of support. One of the instructors mentioned beefing up the FAQs. Was that your statement?

Many thanks,
Clyde

Considering you can't even lay your cue down to take a measurement or calculate a line I don't see how this would ever be considered legal during play, sitting down or not. BTW, the illegality wouldn't jut pertain to tournament play. If it is against the rules it would pertain to any match that is being played by those rules (WPA, BCAPL, etc).

But there are a lot of useful training aids that are illegal for play like JT's stroke trainer and Third Eye, for example. If Randyg thinks it would be useful for bank shot "work outs", you've got a pretty good endorsement. Now that you've introduced it you should post a thread in the for sale forum where a lot of people go to find what instructional materials are available.

Best of luck with this. If it helps improve the bank and kicking game I hope you are really successful with it. I'm all for players getting better.

A couple of us thought the same.

Randyg,
I've been working quite a bit on the web site. I'm going to be looking at a reorganization of all the data but we've beefed it up a good bit. I would value your input if you're so inclined.

Thanks again,
I really appreciate the shout out.

I just bought it. Pretty nifty. Very quick and intuitive to use and should be a useful and fun learning tool. I like the fact that it shows the equal-angle track and leaves it to me to visualize the actual ball path based on conditions (the app clearly advises that adjustments are necessary).

You're welcome to my 5 bucks.

Thanks PJ. I hope it helps a ton.

I'm a little confused why would the ball size change on your app when in real life they don't?

I think one thread about this product should be more than enough. I have removed the other ones and left this one. This is the thread that seemed to be getting the most attention, so it was the winner.

Cool product, fun to play with. Wish it had 3+ rails.

I'm really glad you like it. All things in time. We have up grades in the works. As the world takes notice we will offer much more for very little $.

Cheers mate,
Good Banking,
