Biggest Straight Pool Prize Ever: The 71st World Tournament

I am sure I have just seen the tip of the iceberg because I know he supports many other events as well.

Lets relax, enjoy what we have, and work toward achieving more.

I Second that, i cant thank Bob enough for all that he does for our event....and hay he is even a real nice guy to talk to  It certainly was a surprise and pleasure to meet him at SBE this year and i look forward to doing more so in the future !!!!

6 yrs of Dragon P. resurrecting 14.1 and the World Championships, probably around $quarter million in prize money just for straight pool. pretty sporty IMO!
I agree 14.1 has seen a revival from their efforts

Biggest prize or not...the world straight pool championships have been our most consistently held World tournaments for the past five years now. Me thinks it's about time to just call it the World Pocket Billiards Championship again. For me, the winner of this tournament is THE world champion.

Jasmin Ouschan does not have this tournament scheduled on her site for 2011 is she bypassing it this year?

The 71st World Tournament

Learned discussions of claims about historical events are welcome exercises for the brain, but let's not take our eyes off the ball:

Thank you, Bob Jewett, Charlie Williams, Cindy Lee, Michael Yednak, Randy Goldwater, Joel Shapiro, Steve and Heather Kurtz, Charles Eames, Dennis Walsh, Pat Fleming, and everyone else who has seen to the revival of interest in 14.1 and the continuous holding of a tournament since 2006 despite a bad economy, rain through the roof, changes of venue, etc.

Now that the World Tournament has been revived, maybe the US Open can be revived as well!

Just an FYI

The plan is to try and revive the USOpen Straight pool championship in 2013.

We are working on it now.

More info to come

We hope not.:)

Yes, that reminds me of George Carlin's spoof on air travel and the associated announcements...

"'We will be landing shortly' -- isn't that a little vague?!? Doesn't it sound we're going to miss the runway?"

:-D

Dr. Michael Fedak

Never post late at night! It leads to brain fade. A short while ago I thanked a string of people for their support, financial and otherwise, to the Championship Game: Bob Jewett, Joel Shapiro, Randy Goldwater, Charlie Williams, Cindy Lee, Pat Fleming, Dennis Walsh, Heather and Steve Kurtz, Charles Eames...and then I botched the name of the good doctor, Michael Fedak, who is so strongly supporting both the World and the Amsterdam qualifier.

My apologies and, again, my thanks.

See you in August.

This is the 2nd time Dr.Fedak has been our primary sponsor. He is a remarkable individual and a great asset to our sport
