USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?

Um, that's nice, apparently you didn't read anything I wrote, but whatever.

To actioncentral, or anyone who is ACTUALLY OWED MONEY from the USPPA Reno tournament and would like to discuss, shoot me a PM. If anyone is really going to go down this road and you think there is an easy way to get this done, don't bother with the PM.

I read it. I just disagree with your premise that it's hard to file a claim of a crime against someone. I also disagree that it's hard to file a small claims action. They should have done it a long time ago. My point is that Tony had knowledge he didn't have the money to pay out when the tournament started. Anyone can file criminal claims agaimst Tony, as long as they were a part of the action. I don't believe these players can ever get their money. They have waited too long and listened to too much bad advice. Also trying to get money from an employee (Tony) is absurd. To get $25K or what ever the total amount is, you need to go after deep pockets. They should have filed a claim against Two Cushion, Peppermill, USPPA, and any others involved. All this talk about how it's going to affect future tournaments is baloney. The Sands already had with the USPPA previously and the Peppermill still had a tournament. Small claims used to have to be filed where the harm was caused or where it was solicited. I readily admit I am not an attorney and that is why I set up an attorney to talk to Jeff.

I never said it was hard to file a "claim of a crime against someone", anyone can file a report with the local law enforcement, you just call and request an officer. Actually getting it to go somewhere is a whole different issue, which is what I detailed. I have no idea about small claims and how that works.

My point is that Tony had knowledge he didn't have the money to pay out when the tournament started.

And this is the million dollar question: So exactly what law would this violate in Nevada? Doubt you could get grand theft, but that is the only thing that would make sense in Ca. Maybe embezzlement, but good luck proving that.

I am sure you don't know exactly, and I don't either, so unless someone who is actually affected by this mess pays a lawyer or files with law enforcement, we will probably never know.

The few lawyers that have handled my cases were great.

I think they work in referrals. So once one person hears your story or case, he either knows someone that deals in that type of law and knows how to help or he doesn't.

Talking to lawyers are helpful because they are good at listening, they know what they need to hear to build a case, and if they hear something helpful to someone else's case they refer you.

A lawyer is the best option, they will know how to proceed and who can be sought after. Sometimes they can help with getting you benefits outside of compensation like therapy before anything goes to case. The experts that know the law can speak well about it. I just had a few experiences that I base my judgments on.

If the people who put on the tournament had any assets, there would be lawyers crawling out of the woodwork to take this on.

Ultimately, when it comes to civil litigation, being broke is it's own defense.

Chris

Amen no $$ to go after=Judgment you will never collect!

Anyone know Tony Annigoni's EXACT legal name? Thanks for the help......

Try the state taxation board or possibly business license another is tmk tax map key to look up property and who's name owns it for sending out letters to owners for variances and legal documents.

Call the furniture shop in the front of the building ask them for the landlords number i think its frank but that might be the old tenant before tony.

Ill be in fairfield tomorrow if i get time ill stop in the front shop to see if i can get it for you i dont go to the pool hall anymore.

I am sorry to see you still haven't been paid. I used to think Tony A. was an OK guy, but now I see the error of my ways. After all the talk he made, it is surely panning out to be all BS. I hope you do make him pay somehow.

Wow that sucks buddy..... I hope someday, somehow you can get your cash.

To go from the high of winning the tournament to this is pretty horrible.

Hey jeff i really hope this work out for you bro! You're a good guy and don't deserve to be done dirty like this

you say the word sand i'll stand outside tony's place with a sign saying the owner of this place is a crook

Great Idea PoolPlayer!

I wish I could join you in picketing! I'm afraid that nothing will help. Mr. A is a snake in the grass and no one should ever trust him or associate with him from the billiard sports community!

I guess his snooker friends don't mind that he has ripped off almost everyone that should have received prize money!!!

I know Tony and this just blows me away! This just doesn't sound like the guy I know!!!
I hope he finds his way to make this right.

So is the USPPA defunct now?

Hello Rick, Long time Sir,

If the USPPA isn't defunct, it should be. I don't think there are any more rooms holding USPPA tournaments since the first of the year.

As Tony put it: "I am condensing the USPPA operations to the 2 Cushion Club." LMFAO

Where's my money Tony???????:angry::angry::angry:

Hi Tom. How have you been? Still running tournaments? Still going to Hardtimes? One of these days, I'd like to get over that way.

I guess it's just as well the USPPA is defunct. It has been marred over and over and I guess this is just the nail in the coffin. It's a great idea on paper but not so good in practice. Sandbagging became an artform! LOL

Take care Tom.

I thought the same thing. Now It has been over 6 months and Tony says he is still trying to BORROW the money to pay off the players. I was just looking at the brackets from the Vegas tourney and they had many tournaments with less than a 100 players that paid out some good money.

I paid a $100 entry fee along with 100 other people and Annigoni ran off with our money. WTF, I lost all faith in his word and now I am taking action against him....Any pool playing lawyers in NorCal?
