I don't think they've seen his achievements this year alone
1st Place - Derby City Classic Master of The Table
2nd Place - Derby City Nine Ball
1st Place - Derby City One Pocket
1st Place - US Open 10-Ball Championship

The finals were not a race to 8.
It's a great achievement over a strong field and I hope Shane continues to finish high.
That said, of the top 16 from the World 10-Ball champs, there were exactly one participant in the US Open 10B and only couple from the top 32. I'm not saying the field was easy, but it could have been harder.

That's almost as good as my best year.
I think it was 11-6 over Alcaide, after Alcaide was up 5-2 or so.

The World 10 ball championship is not the defining tournament in 10 ball. First of all no one likes the WPA or their single elimination format. Also it is a 12 hour time zone difference from the US. Which is a huge disadvantage for all players coming from this side of the globe.
