10 ball ghost

In Seattle/Tacoma we play a game called "211" which can be found at www.behindtherocktour.com

We hold tournaments, with payoffs based on aggregate scores against other competitors.
Its a good way to practice, and the objective number lets you rate your ball pocketting skills over time and against other rotation game players.
Can help you match up against others, especially those with whom you are not familiar.

Where do you play? I am in the 425 area code

Bump for some scores.

Johnny, I'm intending to give this a try this weekend but I had a question. When you don't score a strike the rules don't specify how you start your second try of the frame. I'm assuming you must continue with the balls (including the CB) in position and you don't get option of the cue ball in hand in the kitchen.

Is this how you played it?

So I'm thinking the strategy if you find yourself with no shot during your first try is to take an intentional miss, using that miss to make sure you break up any problem clusters or to get a problem ball into a better position.

The way I played was to to bring the CB back in the kitchen for the 2nd try (fo the spare). I'm thinking now that I might have played it wrong. Johnnyt

I'm not sure taking it back into the kitchen helped you any, and probably hurt you, especially if your miss is near the end of a rack and all your work is down by the foot end. I can easily see situations like say where you might have the last ball on the middle of the foot rail and you miss a shot on a ball in the corner but get position on that last ball. Now your back in the kitchen with only one ball left, and it's stuck on the middle diamond of the foot rail. Or at least you're left with a long shot, or all the remaining balls are behind the line and now you're left with a spot shot.

If you're going to try it again with balls in position on the 2nd try, let me know how you score, I'll bet you do even better. I'll report back after I've played a few games myself.

Have a great holiday, my friend.

Will try that way. You have a good and safe holiday too. Johnnyt
