And the after pics. No damage under the wrap or to any of the cue except the finish on the wrap.

I've often considered this fate for my cue after exhibiting an epic choke, interesting to see someone actually follow through ;)

Nice work Ryan

Dude- you're not supposed to use a heat gun to take the finish off those wraps! :)

Its usually a torch for me. :p

Actually, the cue came to me like this. I was shocked to see how straight is was. Its damn sexy now. I like this model.

It looks like the cue was ignited by excessive friction while using a wood
bridge, with the sun peering through the window just at the right time.

I think the damage was caused by someone using a slip stroke.
Maybe there should be a warning sticker on cues"Caution-excessive slip stroke can cause permanant damage"

Firewood

I have heard the term in the pool hall, (as in-'I heard them call us for a match on table 2-let me gather up my firewood, I'll be right with you')but never seen the real thing.

Good job on the restoration. Glad the damage wasn't worse.

My Dad's auto repair business burned down. 12 inch "I" beams twisted and mangled from the heat from the accelerants and fuels. Fire don't care what it is-it will try to consume it.
