The "Wisdom & Rationale For Pulling Threads" thread has now been locked by our mods.

Was it due to the last couple of posts?

I believe there were a number of people, myself included, who were hoping for some resolution/progress on the subject of removing and/or locking threads.

Now that one's locked. :confused:

Anyone care to comment?

I was surprised when I saw it locked this morning! I wonder what caused that?? It didn't cross any lines or rules, did it? :confused:

imo the path of least resistance was chosen


perhaps criterion for deleting/locking will be addressed when time permits


banning DS wasn't relevant to the thread topic
 
I kept hoping for an apology from Wilson, regarding the "guest" incident, but it never came. I think the members deserve it, especially those who have sent money. :)

This whole thing about "guests" did hit a bad note.

I mean, a gracious host never makes a guest feel like a guest, but rather a *member* of the family. "Me cas, tu casa," and all that. However, there is a flip side to that which is: a good guest never forgets that he is indeed a guest and behaves accordingly. I personally feel that too many here lose sight of that and behave boorishly, acting like they own the joint.

Being a moderator is, no doubt, a tough job. But a piss poor attitude towards members and contributors *whom you rely on for content* is not the answer. This whole forum thing is a symbiotic relationship that does best when there is mutual respect from both sides, IMO.

This guest, for one, have decided NOT to continue to contribute to Club Membership when current membership expires.

Brian, I do not anything is going to change. I think about the only thing that happened in the other thread was that Sutton was banned, for how long I have no idea, but from my limited knowledge when the Azhousepro bans a member it is permanent. Some may find this good and others I am certain will feel like with him banned there is now no chance that those who lost their money will ever find resolution.

While I feel for them and understand how it feels to be taken advantage of on this forum ( I lost $1250 ) in deal, I was glad that the member was permanently banned. If people who have the attitude that their individual needs supersede the needs of their customers are allowed to stay active as forum members sooner or later someone else will be taken advantage of.

In my opinion if Dave Sutton ever had any intention of taking care of his obligations to the forum members who are owed something by him, being banned has no effect on those people being taken care of.

I don't understand why the other thread was closed, I suppose the Azhousepro felt that there was nothing to be gained by leaving it open and I also think he feels that threads like that one and this one give the forum a Black Eye. In my opinion it would be easier to put some new rules in place that could help prevent these problems in the future, and I still hope something is in the works toward that end.
