Okay...this is just freakin absurd and it sound smore like a basic marketing course in trying to foster and stimulate demand prior to bringing the product to market and overpricing it as a strategy. Eliteism, snobbery, professional players only use....., HOGWASH.
There are cheap chalks out there...you see the remains on the pool felt at poolhalls everywhere. Blue Diamond is it better....yes....worth the price....sure because unless you're an amateur at chalking your cue, it wears down slowly. I'm still using the same two pieces (one box) that I opened 4 months ago and I play in 1-2 weekly tournaments, practice 6-7 hours weekly, and play APA on twp different nights. The chalk sees a lot of use and the same two pieces are in use....can't read the chalk labels anymore - everything has worn off except for the paper wrap itself.
So am I saying everyone should use blue diamond, hell no. I'm just saying there is really a difference and the price/value ratio is outstanding////2 pieces for four months. I originally bought a carton of 50 boxes in e-bay and I still have 49 new boxes unopened after four months....pretty good value I think.
$25- $30-$35 FOR A PIECE OR TWO OF CHALK, THAT'S EVEN SMALLER IN SIZE TO MASTER CHALK AND BLUE DIAMOND....MY GOD!
Unless that one piece of chalk lasts a whole year, which I can't imagine. or heaven forbid iI leave it behind or just lose it, well, I wouldn't be happy. I think someone is jerking the market around and is trying to sell something like blue diamond chalk but at an artificially inflated price....maybe Efrem Reyes can tell us the truth....but nothing in the category of chalk is worth that much....remember, it's only imparts friction between the tip and cue ball......master chalk and blue diamond bo the do that rather well.
