ABP boycotts Berhman's event

Multiple Choice...

A. Johnny
B. PocketPoint
C. SC5
D. Fatboy3
E. None of the Above :)

The only thing they did was a copy-and-paste. There's no dialog. It's truly spooky.

Speaking of which, did you hear that lightning struck a tree in the exact place where Caylee Anthony's remains were found today, the same day her mother gets notice she will be released from jail next week? Now, that's really spooky.

Getting back to the mysterious poster, I think they're related to somebody in the ABP, either a spouse or somebody who's trying to help them get their message out.

Maybe it will be better to listen to Runout Radio tomorrow when they finish editing -- LOLOLOLOLOLOL -- the colloquy between Rodney Morris, ABP Board Member, and Barry Behrman, Open promoter.

ABP Past Attempts to Work w/Barry Behrman - Today, 06:03 PM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Contrary to what some people are saying, the first official ABP meeting with Barry Berman was in May 2010 in Las Vegas with Johnny Archer, Thorsten Hohmann and Stevie Moore.
Barry made absolute assurances that the money would be paid on time and no one would leave being owed anything. The players requested for the added money and entries to be put up ahead of time. Behrman said it would be too difficult. So the players decided to support him even without putting money in escrow or a 3rd party. Despite a full 256 player field, a top gate, and many sponsors, the players were still not paid in full including the champion Darren Appleton.
Still the ABP players supported him and gave him another chance at the Masters. Behrman advertised this event as $35,000 added and later reduced it to $30,000 the week before, and then reduced it again on the first day of the event. Each time without notifying the players or acknowledging that he once again broke his word.
The players were again paid late. Mika Immonen the champion is still owed $10,000 to this day, more than 3 months later.

During all this time there have several meetings, phone calls, emails with Barry. On one occassion when Barry was notified that if players were not going to be paid that there had to be consequences Behrman left a message on Archer's phone that cannot be repeated due to its vulgarity. In another attempt by Archer, Barry hung up the phone on him. Shawn Putnam volunteered to call him at another time and Behrman hung up on him too. In an email from Behrman sent to Archer, the email disgracefully insulted Archer with swear words.

To sum, ABP has been trying to work with Barry Behrman for 14 months on issues with the US Open and already gave him two more chances (not counting times even before 2010) at his 2010 US Open and 2011 Masters where he not only broke his promises, but also refused to listen or work with Archer and the ABP professionals.

This has not been a hasty decision, but one that has been long discussed and worked on for over a year.

Tough situation. I am curious to know, does Barry currently owe any of the players any prize money from any past events?

2 Cents Worth

I had not planned going to the U.S. Open this year.(more of a one-pocket player) Now I think I will just because of the ABP boycott. Screw these players if you don't like Barry's rules or the fact it might take some time to get all of your money don't play in the tourney. It's not like this is the first year he has had the thing- stay home. Next thing you know their will be ABP teamsters with billy clubs outside the convention center.

Holy crap, JAM..... you post faster than my kids text! :p

I've heard that before. :embarrassed2: I am the Efren Reyes of typing. I've never met anyone in my life who can type as fast as me, and I've traveled with the cream of the crop over the last 30 years when it comes to typing. It is kind of an unusual trait.

I type 150-plus WPM on a QWERTY keyboard. ;)

What are your expectations from players that are not part of the ABP? Are you expecting us to boycott also or is this organization not concerned about what we decide to do?

I'll try a couple. Is the boycott a certainty for this year, or is there room for negotiations. Any comment on future U.S. Opens? Does ABP have any plans for a new men's tour. Thanks.

You guys come on here saying you will answer questions. I summed up the thread so far and asked 7 questions. You don't want to answer any of them.

So, how's the weather where you are??
The problems between BB and the ABP is strictly financial ! any other questions is for a later date !

Mr Putnam, if the ABP is about guaranteed minimum added monies of 25K, seeding of events and money in escrow up front why did you and Mr Archer play in a local event in Atlanta at Mr Cues last week that had none of these?

What kind of message did that send about the strength and willpower of this organization?
