Racy pictires. Are they necessary?

I wish I could type like JAM...and edit like Johnny Archer.

I like looking at avatars and sig lines....hell, I read t-shirts and graffiti.
But it would be nice if the content was self-regulated rather than rules
having to be made......I admire Lao Tzu, who said.....

I changed my avatar in response to this thread. Noone wants to see me playing pool .... may induce vomiting. Good thing an avatar can't be a video. That would definitly make someone sick, me included. :thumbup:

I guess the avatars dont bother me much one way or another but I can understand people not wanting to see those types of images.

I agree totally with you, dsoriano. I think the avatars should reflect something about the sport of pool and have stated so on this forum more than once. Some of these pictures belong on a porn site and I feel that this does not help the image of the billiard industry. However, I do believe in the freedom of expression. I just wish some of the posters would change their avatars.

Glad you see the humor in my thought. But there are some (perhaps the OP) who might think that pic is too racy. And you agree with the OP on the basic premise.

It just shows that what's considered racy to one person is just fine to another. It also shows that even when people believe there are some examples that are over the line, they won't even always agree where that line is...

And yes, the person who helped me with this avatar has excellent taste. :p

You are right on both counts. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess. :p

Some avatars I have seen do border on pornography, but it's a losing battle to complain about it. :smile:

I think the demographics of this forum are members in the thirties, whose hormones are racing. ;)

Lack of sleep will slow one down. I've been up since 2:30, working on a job from hell about war illnesses, brain trauma, and other depressing topics. :frown:

I'd rather type on AzBilliards! :p

Anyway, in terms of photo quality and treatment of the subject, I think your avatar is one of the best on here. Colors, lighting, shading, all around awesome photo. It's certainly not pornographic by any means. Definitely less so than a victoria's secret catalog. :thumbup:
