I haven't posted on here for about a year. Unfortunately my pool playing time in the past year has diminished greatly. I came home from Iraq in January of 2010 and rented a large house and bought a very nice 8 foot pool table. It was a dream come true for about six months. Unfortunately, even though the house had a lot of space, it was also falling apart and my roommate and I were not going to be able to afford the massive energy bills that would be coming once winter hit. We searched for places, but unfortunately the place I moved into just didn't have the space to set up the table, so it is now in pieces underneath the basement steps. We were hoping to move again next month and find a place we could put the table, but we decided it would be a hassle and would just live here for another year until I graduate and move on to the real world.

I recently however learned that the real world is coming much sooner than I thought. I found out a week ago that my girlfriend of a year and a half is pregnant and I will be a daddy for the first time. It's quite a surprise and I (like many others I'm sure) thought we would be married and settled down before starting a family. We do plan on getting married eventually, but right now it's looking like it will be a very busy spring with my child being born and then graduating from college. She graduated last year and already has a decent job, so hopefully I can follow suit. I am just hoping that next year at around this time I am settled down with my new wife and child and that I also have the old pool table set up the way it was meant to be.

Life is a winding road, and your priorities will change more often than you expect. Enjoy the challenges of the moment, the exciting times ahead, and if and when you have time for pool, embrace it to the fullest.

Thanks for checking in.
