There are countless examples of innocent people being negatively affected by anonymous warnings causing the public to suddenly get their guard up. This type of thread on AZB is no different.
Yup, this is like those "virus alert" warnings I used to get in email all the time, sent on by well-meaning people who didn't check to see whether the alert was real or not. 99.9% of the time it was fake, but thousands, if not more, people were upset and responded with forward after forward of bogus information.
Who said I don't like you Smokey. Just because maybe once in a blue moon I disagree with one of your posts and maybe give you a good natured poke in the ribs doesn't mean I don't like you.
I am one of the most non judgmental people you might ever meet.
dean i dont know how to handle it correctly......if the cuemaker wont answer or reply that would be a problem...broken promises are often given by cuemakers for diffrent reasons but it is part of the deal...now knowing how far to push them is the hard part....that is after many broken promises of course....i would almost, a cuemaker tell me it will be ready when it is ready.....now the problem with that is when you have a deposit down....if a deposit is made i think that there should be some kind of delivery date....as you have invested part of your money for what i fill is a average delivery time....i dont order cues unless i intend to pay but i realize that allways isnt the case with some people that order cues....so i can understand a cuemaker wanting deposits from unknown clients evenmore so if it is a design that would be tough to sell....it seems that most cuemakers can post unwanted cues most of the time and sell them now wither that is for what they quoted originaly i dont know...but to me it seems that the main problem here is lack of communication between cuemaker and op.....that sucks because often info on the cue changes and interpations of what the op wanted gets forgoten or lost over time and without communication the cue can become something that the op didnt want....this has happend once before a few years ago to me and i was furious of missed dates and lack of communication and workmenship in the end that i wasnt happy with....i realize that none of us are perfect and crap happends but when it contiunues to happen to diffrent people maybe the OPS arent the problem...now i also realize that us as customers OFTEN expect to much from the cuemakers and that is or faults...if there was a way to meet in the middle and have patient OPS and on time cuemakers we would have the perfect world.....but we are not perfect and nor are they....so the real question is when to complain and "let them have it" or just shut up and take there reasons for non delivery or excuses....each person has there own threashold for it.....as for me i am somewhat patient but sometimes i let my ass overload my mouth....i can take alot of punishment but when it comes out it comes out a bunch....in the end of it all it is up to the cuemakers....and i guess as OPS it is up to us to understand that we cant allways get what we want and when we want it......if there was a WALMART for custom cues i am sure they would do really well......o wait there is....all the great conventions and custom cue websites an az website which will sell you a cue and have it to you within less than a week...now the problem with that is they might not have the exact design that you want at that time but with enough patient, time and MONEY you can almost allways find what you want....and if you cant find it then o well....DEAN i hope you get your problems resovled but really it is up to the cuemaker as when you get the cue and there isnt really anything you can do about it...you can be nice, mean, trash them, praise them, call them,or let them be....long post might of been rambling but o well....my head is sometimes a mess.... gl mickey carroll
