I HAVE A DILEMMA. Advise?

So, here is the situation.

I ordered a cue before I moved to Korea with plenty of time to receive it before I moved (which I did). I ordered the cue with two shafts, one standard and one OB2 made to match the cue from a blank. When I went to pick the cue up (because the cue maker said it was finished), it only had one shaft... the standard. The cue maker said that he had a problem with the OB2 splitting and he would get a replacement shaft for me and ship it to me. I said no problem. He claimed that he had troubles getting the replacement in time so I was willing to give him the benifit of the doubt and just receive it in the mail.

That was 1 year and 3 months ago almost exactly. I've talked to the cue maker numerous times and he keeps saying that he is getting to it and he will send it to me soon. He also happened to drop into the conversation about 6 months ago that he will want $40 more now to ship the shaft to me (this was different than our original agreement and the cue is already completely paid for). And, he will no longer make me an OB2 shaft. I've gotten so fed up that I just said to make me one of his standard shafts. I'd be fine with that.

I don't want to blast this cue maker because he has a really good reputation as an up-and-comer who is making really quality equipment. People love his stuff (as do I) and he is becomming pretty well known. But I can't let this slide! I'm owed a shaft per our original agreement. I love my cue from him, it was easily my everyday shooter and I have some really high end cues (BB, Black, JW, TS, etc)(the TS is now so it isn't Scruggs). This cue was relatively high-end ($2000+). I just want what is owed to me for over a year!

But what is pissing me off besides him not following through on our deal is that I have seen him make NUMEROUS cues in that time and post them for sale here on AZ. I've seen him make numerous cues with multiple shafts for other people I know as well! I've seen him take an order from someone right off this site!!! And, he actually had to ask me my cue specs at one point like joint diameter and pin and that was only about 3 months ago which tells me he hadn't done a single thing he owed me in about a year!

WTF!!! What ever happened to customer service? Should I blast this cue maker or try and talk to him one more time?... which would be about the 6th or 7th. If you were buying a cue from this guy, wouldn't you want to know details like this before you placed an order. I almost feel like I have a responsibility to let people know what kind of as*h*le this maker is being.

Needless to say, I'm pissed.:mad:

Your thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

I would call him again and ask him to send you what you paid for or refund you the cost of buying the shaft yourself. If he refuses to do any of the above then I blast his name all over the place. If you have called him many times over the 1 year and 3 month timeframe than you have given him plenty of chance to make things right.

I've seen numerous threads such as this and seeing as you have been more than patient with the situation, I would out who it is and maybe we can get his side of the story. If there is one.
You will probably save others future heartache and maybe get your issue resolved quickly.
If you have indeed prepaid for something you should not be getting the run around.
Protecting his identity is the last thing you should be considering.

agree with this ^^

I just sent the cue maker yet to be named one more message that is straight to the point. Basically, I want my shaft and I want it now.

I'll go that route and if I don't get a satisfactory response, I'll blast him like it's nobody's business!

Have a good weekend everyone.

It's truly wonderful of you to have so much patience. I would have blasted his ass way before this. Which is why I only deal with cue makers with a long history of keeping to their contractual agreements. Whether it's verbal or not means little to me, it's about ethics and your reputation. It's far more difficult and time consuming to repair a damaged reutation than it is to uphold it in the first place.. Hope you have success and get your shaft or else you'll have to give him the shaft!!
