Scot Sherbine at Proficient just called me. He's in charge of liquidating a bunch of cues from an estate. Mostly production cues.

He's putting them up at Cue Auctions. There are already a bunch up for sale, but this just scratches the surface of what will be coming up.

Cue Auctions had been inactive so I want to make sure everybody here is aware of these auctions. There will be some great deals, especially on entry level and mid level production cues.

Scot plans to keep lowering prices until they're all gone. There will be some great bargains. Keep checking back!

I had put this in wanted/for sale but it's just going to get buried in that madhouse.

Wow! This ought to get Cue Auctions buzzing. That's a lot of cues coming onto the secondary market at one time. I might have missed it but a way to search through them would be good so folks can quickly get to the makers that they are interested in.

Thanks for the information.

Many of these cues were purchased new or barely used and just put away.

I'm not all that familiar with the site myself - I'm trying to get registered because I know some great deals will be coming up.

hmmm

Yes, Scott at Proficient is selling a George Balabushka Cue. Yes, we all know what it really is, but does everyone ??

Not one word mentioned of the company that made the cue, nothing about it being a reproduction and/or tribute cue, nada. This could very well confuse a novice pool player. And if his intent is not to confuse, why even list it as a Balabusha? Why not put Adam on the listing ??

I'm kinda tired of this kind of BS stuff......judge for yourself..

George Balabushka cue - no reserve
This is a George Balabushka GB-4 cue. It is new old stock. The cue has only been chalked for test and there are no dings. Both the butt and shaft are straight.

Weight - 20.1 ounces
Length - 58 inches
Shaft - 12.97 mm

This is part of a large estate sale of billiard cues that we will be listing over the next couple of months. To view some of the estate click here http://www.proficientbilliards.com/estate/pictures.html

to be kept up to date on this auction facebook.com/proficientbilliards

I would think that the GB-4 would be a giveaway. Anyone who thinks it might be real should ask questions. Scott isn't the type to try and screw people over and he's been in business a long time. It's very common to list these without saying they are Adam.

it just occurred to me...

whose stuff is being liquidated.

This was posted a couple of months ago upon his passing.

As I said in that thread, I sure would have loved an opportunity to chat with this man. There had to be endless great stories there.

And check out his billiard service truck!

That his vast collection will be making lots of people happy seems fitting.

RIP, Sir.

Best,

Not sure why GB-4 would be a giveaway. It looks like it stands for George Balabushka..... I don't believe anyone should have to ask questions about who the maker of the cue is, just put it in the tag line for heavens sake. At least put in the ad somewhere ?? Just seems a little sneaky in my opinion. And I've never seen one advertised as NOT being an Adam cue...why start now.
