Quick and easy games for teenagers?

Our family day event is coming up in a few weeks and I need some ideas to give away 4 prizes to our teens (12-15 years old) who attend. I don't know how many there will be but I need some type of pool game to have them compete in. I was thinking some type of 4 or 5 ball competition but I am coming up blank on how to execute it.

Something quick, easy with 3 second prizes and one grand prize.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Similar to you, I want to present a fun game for adults that really don't play pool. The last thing I want to see is a couple of them losing interest because they can't pocket balls for a half hour.

Anyhow, I'm thinking of doing 3-ball golf. Rack three balls in a triangle and let them put ball in hand after the break. It gets people who don't play thinking about position and it also gives them at least one easy shot. Count the number of strokes it takes them to pocket all 3 and only allow a max of 10. You decide how many games (holes) to play and reward the cumulative low. Also, let them play in alternate order rather so everyone gets to the table often enough. Cue ball scratches result in a penalty stroke as well as ball on the breakside dot.

Cutthroat might be a good game for that. They could play teams or singles.
I would let them shoot any combos too.(meaning there Is no bad hits)I'm sure you know the game, but Incase you don't..the breaker has the 1 -5,the second has the 6-10,the thrid has 11-15.the team or player who has one of their balls left wins the game. The object Is to get rid of everybodys balls except your own.Fun game! Good luck,John B.

Since I have no idea how many will participate, I am thinking of spotting two object balls and counting how many shots it takes to make them. The top four moves to the second round with the same format to determine who wins the prizes.

This is just to entertain the kids for an hour or so while the other festivities are going on.

7 sets of combos

Another game you could try using all 15 balls, could be made up of two numbered balls adding up to 15; 1-14, 2-13, 3-12, 4-11, 5-10, 6-9, and 7-8...
you could assign each of 7 people a set of 2 numbers, and as their balls are made by others, they are eliminated....you could make a rule that no 2 balls in a set could be made in succession so that no one gets eliminated right away...and the 15 ball would just be a "dead" ball..

Now that I think of it; you could also make sets of 3 numbered balls; 1-2-3, 4-5-6 etc. and have 5 players involved in the game of elimination...

Also, you could have them pick these combinations of numbers "out of a hat" before the game starts, so that nobody knows who has which numbered balls.

First thing that came to my mind was racking 3 balls in a small triangle, and challenging them to break and pocket the balls in the least amount of strokes.

You could have double eliminations, tie breakers and so on.

This way one person plays and all the others watching have interest in what is happening.

That's kinda what I'm thinking but I am under a time constraint so probably just one round per kid and move on.
