To many plastics!

Plastics is probably not the correct term. Sorry. Anyway, my question is this - there are a lot of material choices for ferrules but when you search for the materials by name the info always seems to point back to the same suppliers. Ivorine, Juma, Saber-T, Elofryn, etc. etc. Are these terms cue making suppliers have made up to identify a generic material or are they actually industry names?

Chris,

There was a pretty good discussion of various plastics in this thread not too long ago, not sure if you saw it or not:

Thanks!

That's the kind of thing I was looking for! Hardness information would be fantastic on all usable plastics! I know you guys with years of experience have kind of figured that out, but it sure would be nice to have the relevant information some where on the internet!

Chris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (in the mood to use exclamation points)

Most of the terms you used are a form of petroleum which is a kind of plastic.
Then you have buck horn, ivory and other non man made materials.
