Per this link, they are down to the last 4:

The magician gave Wu a hard time before losing 9 to 10. I would love to see the Orcullo vs Wu semifinals match later tonight.

WTF is going on ?????????????? No Stream, no Livescore, not even updated Brackets !!!! Info SUCKS big time !!!!

I'm gonna sue if I can't see Wu!
OMG Wu vs. Orcullo, what a match that should be. I love the Seminole Tour but trust me when I tell you the level of play over there is a notch above. It's a lot harder to win when you have the best filipinos, Chinese (Taiwan + China) and Europeans in the field.

I like our best players over here (Shane, Johnny, Rodney, Dennis Hatch and Mike Dechaine), but they all have trouble winning over there. I'd like to see Dennis give it a try before he's all done. Right now Shane is the only American who does well in Asia (mostly gambling though). Alex is another transplant who can compete anywhere.

"2011 Predator International 10-Ball Championship Finals: Mika Immonen vs. Dennis Orcollo NOW LIVE on BALLS SkyCable Channel 34." said abscbnsports's twitter feed so probably no live feed from Predator's site?

Score was 10 - 8.

Wu beat Liu for 3rd.

There was a bit of controversy as the ref gave Mika 2 extension in the 16th rack but Mika lost a safety battle and ceded the table to Dennis and Dennis took it from there gluing Mika in his seat en route to the title.

Where can I find the pay outs? First people want to know who won which is naturally followed by..."How much?"

Dennis Orcollo beat Mika Immonen in the finals 10 - 8 ! Congrats Dennis !

Believe it or not, this is Dennis' first big win at home. He had never won a tournament in the Philippines, so I'm sure this means a lot to him. By the way it was $10,000 for first.

Funny thing, I sold some old copies of P&B mag to Bob Jewett and before mailing them out, I leafed through them one more time. These were issues from 1985, over 25 years ago! There were several tournaments that year that offered first prizes of over 10K, including the Last Call For 9-Ball at Resorts with a $30,000 first prize (won by Wade Crane over Buddy Hall, who got 15K for second), Buddy won the last Caesars Tahoe event that paid $15,000 and also Willards in Chicago with 15K on top. The BC Open paid $25,000 for first and there were several other events with good purses.

That was very good money in those days, and there were a plethora of tournaments for pro players. Most of them had five or ten thousand in added money, with similar size first prizes. Players actually stayed on the road back then, driving from tournament to tournament. NO ONE knows the highways of the Eastern USA better than Buddy Hall, you can believe that.

Thanks, Jay for the great stories and sharing pool history. You're da man with all the info :)

I saw the payout listed $10,000 for first place based on 96 players but this event only drew 63 players. I wished it wasn't competing againt the Seminole Tour so the bests of USA could attend, I understand sometimes (very often) promotors are not always given lot of flexibility to secure the venue. :(

It's a great gesture if DP paid full field payout even though event was far from being full n

Jay, Did you get the payout numbers from their poster etc. Please note the $43,000 total payout was based on 96 players. They only had 63 players. Also, the entry (including late fee) was $425.00. IF they had 96 players and IF the entry was $400.00, this would have been a $5,000 added event. (That is right - I said $5,000!!!) Does this seem odd??

Also, it was schedule at same time as the Seminole $50,000 Added Mizerak. 3rd place paid $9,000 (way to go Hunter!) - almost what the winner at Predator got paid. It is too bad there are not more weekends for big tournaments!

I just find this all very interesting. Congratulations to all the winners.

Mark Griffin

(OOps - My wife posted same time as I did - I am at office, she isn't!)
