Fusion Table by Aramith

I'm seriously thinking about buying a fusion table.
A average square metre price here in Oslo being $8000. A separate room for a 9ft table is indeed a costly option...
The table is displayed in a shop here in Oslo, the table looked very solid with hight conversion from dining table to pool table.
I see the price is mentioned as low as $2000 That price is way off!
My reserach tells me the table costs a little under $10.000.
Talking with the Norwegian importer that figure seems about right, they charge NOK 59.000 for the table, that's including all accessories, freight etc.
I still haven't played on the table so i don't know about the quality of the cushions, how the pockets reacts to hard shots etc. However i do know that the fusion table uses real slate.
If anyone has any updates or personal experiance with the fusion table, please speak up!

Just ordered my fusion table. I'm getting the steel version with grey oak panels.
I bought the showroom model for NOK 36.000,- (about $6400) which is 40% off the retail price. The only fly in the ointment is that i wan't get the table before after christmas.

Did JAM ever get this table, as her post said four years ago? She never reports back, which seems curious. If she did, does she like it? What does her roomie think of it?

Please keep us posted on how this.

we have one of the fusion tables on our show floor, its garbage to say the least.....

Fit and finish on the table isnt what a pool player would/should expect from a very well known name in pool(aramith) balls pop out of the pockets at a medium speed hit, balls jump off the cushions...

the table does look nice the first time seeing it, however its far far too much cash for what you are getting. seems to me like another company dreamed up the table and told aramith they would split profits for placing their names on it.

i would be more then willing to take some pics of the fit and finish on ours if anybody liked.

Fusion Table

I think this table may be more suited for the social shooters, like those who play once a week and/or play pool for recreation and fun.

I am still trying to locate a vendor here in the United States to see how much one is in American dollars. With the dollar conversion that Fanthom so kindly provided, it would cost about 2,000 here.

I think that is way too much. I paid a little over 2 dimes for my Brunswick Century 9-footer years ago, and that came with a lot of accessories.

I would much rather have this table in my basement than my Brunswick Century. We never use my table at home anymore, and this table would be great for poker, dinners with friends, et cetera. It's a multi-purpose table. Hey, if they could add ping-pong onto it, it would be a win-win for me.

I may be selling my Brunswick Century. It cost over 2,000 new, but unlike pool cues, I am sure this has depreciated. I'd be lucky to get 500 for it. I have been leaning on donating it to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Navy Medical Hospital, or Forest Glen Army Medical Center for charity. I need the tax writeoffs, and the table is just sitting in my basement gathering dust. :p

I would happily replace it with this one, though. That way, me and my friends could still play a few games when they come over, after we eat and play poker. :D

FYI I have one just like the one in your first picture. It plays nice and looks cool you have to get used to the ball dropping in the pocket though. If anyone has any questions let me know. The table doesn't come with the chairs, poker/blackjack/roulette felt, balls or sticks. You can however buy this stuff separate and have it shipped with the table from the manufacturer.

Mine is very fast actually faster then my Kim Steele 9 footer. They use fairly high quality bumpers FYI. You must not have the good felt on it. It is the same table the pros are playing some tournaments on. Take a look on ESPN. They are playing on a 9 foot stationary version.

If you get the flat chairs they slide under for more room.

And then there's this inviting and comfy fireside pic. :p

Perfect place for it since it is probably best used as firewood.

What I find funny about the marketing is that the tables essentially is for people on a limited budget with space issues yet they are always showing this thing in very upscale, multimillion dollar type surroundings. And the table in the pic lists for around $13K.

When a m2 costs $10.000 and you need about and 18 m2 for a 7ft pool table, 6 grand sound like a pretty fair price to me, especially since it also functions as a nice big contemporary looking dining table.
Not everyone can ad an extention to their garage...

Could you post pictures of the finish problems?

Hi again yall.
I picked up my fusion table today, so i can finally give some feedback about pros & cons, pluss my general impression.
Ill start with the frame, wich is super sturdy, the up and down mechanism works like a charm, the frame has tight tollerances, it only took 15 minutes to get everything up and leveled.
The slate is one-piece and of good quality with a thin strip of wood around to staple the cloth to.
The cushions has the same profile as Brunswick uses and got a decent amount of bounce. The cloth is "wolly" for me, i prefer Simonis 760 wich is alot faster and slicker than the type of cloth that comes with the table.
The pockets are very clever indeed and easily holds five balls.
The top part of the frame is in a tough laminate and the diamonds are very pretty, the way the top frame is assembeled is poorly thought out, so you need to be very carefull when your installing the top part of the frame. Aramith should have gone with aluminium profiles instead of MDF.
The table plays nice, especially with the new tournament balls.
The cues that comes with the table is ofcourse utter rubbish and is only good for firewood!
All in all this is a really good table, that is cleverly engineered and has decent playability.
That said it's is ofcourse not comparable with a GC table even though the price is similar.
It's is a product of compromises and in that respect it works very well.
The design is very contemorary, so it's not for everyone.
We have a modern apartment and the table blends in nicely.
I got the table for almost 50% off retail price and its easily worth that price, i would however say that at retail price, the table is overpriced and i would have never considered to buy it at that price.
I'll post some pictures as soon as i get some proper lighting.

Thanks for the review. I'm thinking about getting one of these because the only way I can have a pool table is to put it where the dining room table is. And it's got to be modern - NOT contemporary. Now that you've presumably had the table for a while, can you add anything? Would you recommend it?

I'm really looking to pick up a used one, since I can't drop $8000 USD on the thing, but would consider paying more like $4000.

Theses tables can be had for between $7000 and $12,000. Average being about $10,000. These are not cheap, if you want the additional furniture (cover and bench seating). Prices can be verified on ebay, btw.
