On the homepage there is a very classy message from Mr. Archer encouraging fans to show up to the US Open and support him. He mentions not only that he is playing well but has also that he has climbed up the ladder on the Mosconi points list, and is now in 3rd position. He even makes a nice analogy towards poker in his message. He is attempting to get folks interested in the race for the Mosconi team, and I think he may be on to something here.
I know there was controversy with Johnny a few months back, but I think all professionals should take notes here. If more professionals would "reach out" so to speak, to fans and make them feel more welcomed at professional events it just could help the turnouts at these events. IMO, Archer has handled himself with class and this message to fans is a definite symbol of his character and love for the game.
