Hi all,

Just started learning to change leather wraps. I like to know what is a good way to remove the glue underneath linen wraps.

Thanks in advance

I always just sand it off, same as I would when replacing linen.....

Sandpaper with what grit? Thanks for the reply Ryan & Darcy.

I usually use a razor blade set at an angle to the wrap slot and spin the glue off at about 500 rpm. I then sand down the remainder with 100 grit, finish with 240.

Thanks for the tips. Looks like it gonna be alot of work for me as I don't have no lathe.

220 is pretty good.

A leather wrap is probably the only job you don't REALLY need a lathe for, but you will need something to hold the cue perfectly solid in, like a lathe :) or a wrap jig

Here are some pictures of the 6th and 7th wrap Ive done the other day. Experimented on my breaking cue at 1st.

The honey brown wrap is my 6th try and the wine colored is 7th.
