New Kindle Fire...can It get TAR PPV?

I'm a very lo-tech guy. I read about the new Amazon Kindle Fire and still don't know if I can get the PPV's on it like TAR or Accu-Stats. I'd buy one for $199 if it can show the ppv streams. Anyone know if it can? Thank you. Johnnyt

I don't know if the kindle will let you or not. However, there are a lot of cheap tablets that run Android that would allow you to do this! $100 - $200 One maker is the same as the original ipad, but it has android instead of apple software.

I also see that Acer is using a dual booting netbook now that has Windows and linux in it.

To me I would opt for a 10" or 12" netbook with linux and it should stream ppv, tar, or accustats no problem!

based on its specs i think it'd be able to, but the quality would definitely be better on a laptop/netbook

we have an ipad and it doesnt run Flash. Quite annoying. That may or may not have anything to do w/ PPV/ TAR, but it definitely means...NO WEI (now that is funny).

ipads have nice screens and would be comparable as far as quality, but might be overkill for what you want. i like rblilly's link to the compaq refurb laptop.

yea I am anti apple due to their proprietary b/s and the fact they don't run Flash.

Thanks! for $229 it is a lightweight little laptop and would work perfect for what he wants to do. Also if the battery isn't long lasting enough he could upgrade the battery to an extended battery.

He just said he's a low-tech guy and you are suggesting he buys netbooks with multiple OS' on it? And learn Linux? Don't confuse the guy.

Most entry-level laptops/notebooks come with dual cores you can buy for $200 will be plenty for streaming (see Walmart.com/Newegg.com and sort by price).

You'll have a clearer and stutter-free stream with a better video card, etc., but Windows 7 uses way less resources than past operating systems

ubuntu is super easy to put on it, and it's very user friendly point and click. So is Android, but few netbooks use it.
I suggested the linux based OS for a less power hungry pc machine.
Yes he can use a netbook with windows and probably be just fine.
It just depends on what he wants or needs.
Heck I would even install the OS for him if he needs me too!
 
Thank you all very much. Looks like I'm going to stay with my big old acer laptop with 15" screen. I just thought for $200 the new kindle would be nice to take with me while the wife is shoping, but not if the quality isn't that good. Thanks again to all. Johnnyt
