Ahh, I just caught that. Didn't realize this was Nevel's situation. Clearly he doesn't have the stroke required to draw the ball all the way over there.

This wasn't the first time in that match that Nevel had a draw problem.
I think the problem is new balls..they tend to slip.
Earlier in the match he tried a table-length draw and only got two feet.
...hence his frustration.

btw...the shaft breaking WAS an accident, according to his opponent.
...it caught a seam in the rug. Alex felt it was unintentional.

That is a JoeyA original, just something that I've experienced for myself. It is quite difficult to go to the rail from a sharp angle and not bounce off of the cushion at least an inch or so and when you are close to the object ball an inch off the rail gives you plenty of angle on the almost frozen object ball to either bounce off the rail, follow, or draw.

I'm sure there may be some who disagree with this perception but for me, I've hit enough of those shots where you plan to hit the rail and the cueball is coming in at a relatively sharp angle to the rail, that it is difficult to freeze the cue ball on the rail, so I just plan for a slight bounce and stay close to the object ball.

You're right, I should have saved that one for my commentary since I'm always prodding my pro player co-commentator for "SECRETS" of pool. :smile:

what s going on with the cuetable now here- i can t see the diagram anymore- just a blank table. I tried to follow thru clickin on the *blank table*but just the cuetable site pops up- and again a blank table. decoding blablabla is shown under the blank table......
Asking my self really why ppl always have to change something what already worked excellent.

It bores me really-

but i already tried this several time. It just opens the cuetable side and shows me a blank table. It must be a shockwave mistake/issue. Just the link the site is trying to decode must be 100 % wrong.


from now over 40-50 trys one time i was able to see the table-situation.

I would always try to runout. Not that hard pattern there to see imo.

6 with follow, trying to have a nice angle for the 6. then the 6 up into the corner-pocket with follow again for a nice angle onto the 7. Then cut the 7 into corner, and let the cueball roll it s natural way (maybe a little left english) towards position for the 8- that s it

Keep it simple!

I don't see the need for anything fancy here and must disagree with Adam about bumping the six although I have great respect for his game and his knowledge from our encounters at the old Pro Billiards in Orlando back in the day. I would just roll forward, bounce off the rail, and shoot the six past the side. From there it should be simple to get the cue ball to the middle of the table where you can bounce off one natural rail from the seven to the middle of the table where I'm cutting the eight ball to my right. It is from there that I would go ahead and be very comfortable with bumping the nine-ball as it appears that the natural carom moves the nine towards the lower left corner pocket.

I don't like trying to get to where I'm cutting the eight to my left in order to avoid bumping the nine. The much narrower position zone for that shot creates the possibility that I might hook myself behind the nine.

P.S.--After looking at the layout one more time I don't think getting hooked by the nine is a huge probability. I would still, however, stay to where I'm cutting the eight to my right. Greater margin of error=dog proof.
