it's a great feeling to find a dead ball in the stack and make your opponents heart sink while in the chair...it's not such a great feeling when you miss your next shot and he runs 50 and out on you :(

I hate to admit I've had that happen to me more than once, not always with the guy running out, but definitely getting much more behind in the game. It sometimes seems like I concentrated so hard on making the combination, or, in my case, a good break shot, that on the next shot or maybe the second I would dog it like a blood hound!

Not uncommon. You find the shot that opens up the table, or you make a couple of tough shots to open things up, then you relax on an easy shot, take it for granted, one stroke and miss.

Relax and calm yourself after the testers are done.

I can't tell you how many times I've done that. It's unbelievably frustrating. I'll be shooting pretty decent, on a nice run...I have a short, easy shot and dog it. What really frustrates me is that when I am looking at the ball, I almost can see that I am not hitting it right...but (you guessed it), I hit it anyway.

I've ruined plenty of my own runs like this. Table wide open...miss easy shot...opponent racks up another 10 or 20. For me the problem is focus (as was stated in another post...I relax on the easy shots...and then miss).

Got to work on that.

There's a saying that goes something like, " The good players know they can make any shot on the table. The great players know they can miss any shot on the table."
