Sniper vs Moori Slow tips

Thanks for answer.

How can you compare this with Moori, sniper and other? This Tiger Emerald looks cheaper then Moori & sniper. This is good, then you can buy more :-)

But I will buy these & try them.
Thanks.

Is there other as well.

Perhaps buy a another Z2 shaft to test out.

Mr.RS4:

Apologies for the belated reply, as I'm only now seeing this. (I was without power since Saturday afternoon; we had a big snow storm in the northeast U.S. that knocked-out power to my local area, and the power was just restored a few minutes ago.)

Yes, the Tiger Emerald tips are less expensive than either the Moori or Sniper tips. Like I said, previously I was never a layered tip fan, so my experience with Moori tips is sparse -- I can't offer an opinion on those. But I *do* have experience with Tiger Sniper tips, and the Emerald tips have a bit softer hit than the Snipers. (The Snipers, to me, are too hard. Although the Snipers spin the ball good, I just don't like the hit.)

I would think that an "experiment" with one Emerald tip is a worthy exercise. I don't have an opinion on how Emerald tips perform on Predator shafts, because I don't use low-deflection shafts *at all*. (I prefer plain one-piece maple shafts.)

I hope this is helpful,
-Sean

Yes, thank you very much :-)
I will by & try these :-)

EDIT
I did a search on ebay, and can`t find any Tiger Emerald medium-soft, just medium-hard :-(
Perhaps send a email to the store you wrote, and ask them about sell to me in Norway, later to day(work are waiting for me)?

Again thanks!

it's funny i read all the good things about the sniper so i bought a 314,2 with a sniper on it installed.
to give you a background , i was used to play with the regular schon shaft with a medium morri 50% used up tip (pretty hard tip).

i thought it was a bit too hard of a tip so i thought the sniper would be perfect on that 314,2.

tried the 314,2 yesterday on my schon, it felt too spongy after forcing myself for an hour of play
my reflections on the 314,2 - sniper combination:
a) it felt way too spongy or weird. it spins the ball good, but i don't like the spongy hit. it felt like i was poking the ball with a rubber mixed with jelly, not sure whether it is because i don't like the thickness of a new tip, or the fact that it was too spongy "soft".
b) need to try a harder tip on the 314,2 , maybe it would be good to put on a moori medium to compare shaft for shaft with the same tip
c) the sniper miscued way too many times but i think it's because of the brand new tip. i scuffed it a bit, it seems to me the tip being that thick makes it miscue more. i miscued way more than on my 50% worn moori medium.

overall i couldnt get any decent feel with the 314,2 + sniper combination. it's strange that many people here are using snipers on their predators.
i suppose im one of those that likes it a little harder than medium, but not too hard. either that or the predator altogether is too spongy of a shaft for me.
i know im not alone, another pool guy i know he told me he puts a hard tip on his 314,2 because otherwise it's too soft of a hit.

any people tried this?

I wish you folks would quit recommending Sniper tips! The price will surely go up and it's the only tip I'll use!

A Kamui black medium works well on a 314-2. If you think the sniper has a soft/spongy hit, you should've tried the stock Everest - horrible!

I play with a custom flat laminated shaft and the Kamui Med Black is by far the best tip I have ever used. The Morri Med tip I had on it before would glaze over after about 10 shots and hit like I had a marble glued on. It was horrible.

If I miscue now I know it was me and not the tip...

I know these types of Questions come up alot but I strongly believe from cues to shafts to tips it depends on the style of the player and what compliments there game better. For me I never want to tweak my game to adjust to the equipment I'm using. It can be hard enough adjusting to the conditions of the table without the added headache of being uncomfortable
with your cue.

Agreed, it's an impossible question to answer.

i tried the shaft again today to give it another shot. i will play with it for 5-6 more days, im playhing with it at least 2 hours, then i switch for 1-2 hours back and forth with my schon shaft which has a moori medium.

today i thought less negatively about the 314,2 but i can definitely tell the sniper-predator 314,2 is a bad combination for me.

looks like soon ill decide to replace the sniper with a kamui medium or moori medium, and see from there.

I have tried the Emerald tip this week and love it. It's a sticky bugger, lots of action!
I think it's softer than advertised and feels just right.
Harder than an Elkmaster, softer than a Moori med., definitely worth a try.

I've been re-tipping my cues now since the next closest place is a 1 hour drive for a so-so job. I practiced on my house cues.

Believe me, most of you would cringe at my method of cutting the tip to size......(belt sander).......but with a careful eye and NOT too much coffee in me, I'm happy with the results.:)

Are not Predator shafts coming stock with Tiger Everest now? Try one! However, I recommend anyone using a Sniper to back it with either the red or black fiber disc.

If he thinks the Sniper & a Pred's a bad combo, he'll freak when he tries an Everest.

Predator are out of their minds putting Everest's on their shafts. It's a terrible combination. Mr soft and spongy, meet Mr hollow and unsatisfying.

Kamui. Black. Medium.

first off I didnt get the usual everest tiger because I asked seyberts to put the sniper, so they did the replacement for me manually.

second, the sniper is standng tall, like a mile high, im thinking i will trim it down to about 50-60% then shape it, and play with it for a week and by then it should settle, and see from there.

third, i noticed the seyberts guys didnt burnish the sides of the tip. i literally see the layers of the sniper crystal clear as-is. so now i have no clue, should i burnish those sides, or should i leave it as-is ?
