The Anvil is the highest quality break jump cue that is built in the US today. There is nothing in the world built any better, most are not as straight, butt or shaft. Nothing jumps better or breaks better. The finish is as good as any expensive custom cue. The shaft comes with the FT2 unbreakable ferrule and a Samsara leather tip and Shaft Freeze. The taper is built especially for breaking to be stiff and get through your fingers easily, not to decelerate because of the common Europeon or modified pro taper on most of your break cues. The Orange Crusher for an inexpensive break cue works very well, but for a cue that does both breaking and jumping with beauty, durability and preformance the Anvil is the best.

OK, got my OC break cue yesterday and took it to league (8 Ball). I'm very impressed.
The tables at league (9') are well known to break very tough. I think this is primarily due to slow nappy cloth but in any event it is very hard to make balls off the snap and there is usually clusters for both players to deal with. Around league the joke is the best strategy is to intentionally miscue and hope your opponent decides to take over the break.
My first break I came up dry breaking from just off the head spot. But as mentioned above this didn't bother me. The balls definitely snapped off hotter and with a distinctly louder bang when the CB impacted the rack. This resulted in an excellent spread with no clusters so when my opponent missed I had little trouble running out on my next turn.
My second break I made two balls from the side rail hitting the head ball. This is something I'm not sure I've done but maybe once on these tables in the past year. Again the spread was excellent with no clusters and allowed me a fairly simple break and run starting with the CB at center table, with my opponent frozen in his chair. Now that's what a break cue is for. :grin:
The Samsara tip provided excellent CB control and both breaks resulted in the proper pop and squat I was going for. I'm confident this tip would allow me to apply sufficient english on cut breaks to ensure the CB hits the second rail above the side pocket thereby avoiding the typical cut break scratch where the CB goes off the side rail and across into the side pocket. It's a very effective break tip and is BCAPL legal.
Admittedly this is a small test sample, but as I said my break was noticeably more powerful with a distinctly louder hit on impact with the rack producing a more violent collision and excellent spread each time, all with excellent CB control. I am extremely happy with the Orange Crusher and would highly recommend it even at it's normal price. At the sale price it is a no brainer.
Mike was excellent to deal with. He was available and friendly on the phone, answering all my questions. He shipped the next business day, it was well packaged, and the cue arrived at my door on the West Coast in two days. He was also very reasonable on pricing for the extras I ordered - "MG" logo JP's and an additional heavier weight bolt so I can play around with the weight if I want.

These are not on my site. They are curly and birdseye maple stained, only 3 left with black wraps ans several without wraps for the $275.00 with the Samsara tips. I have several with exotic hardwood handles(ebony, ironwood, bacote, and more) for $375.00

Not yet, Mike. I thought that was for experts on a closed course only and not something us mortals should attempt.
I'll give it a try and let you know. Being able to jump with it would be a big bonus because jump cues are not allowed at the Swanee coming up in February.

First try quarter ball, 1/2 ball then full ball jumps.
I got my Orange Crusher and love it. I'm not only sinking more balls on the break, but I'm getting great seperation. I actually took a little speed off and focus on control...and the Orange Crusher does the rest. This is an absolute steal at 125.00. Thanks Mike.
I am on my way back to South Carolina for 3 weeks to get some more cues done and back to Houston for the $3,000.00 added, ameatures only, must qualify, Deep Pockets tournament December 2,3 & 4th. This tournament is put on by Brent Thomas and Ming Ng, the best run tournaments I have ever seen. No calcutta fees, got to love this.
